Shooting from hip?

Did some testing at WPAF base with the newly installed extended carrier release button. Worked great whether I used my fingers or just tapped gun on my leg while shooting from electric scooter. May add a little larger plate at bottom, cause there were times I had to tap gun on leg twice to push up plunger. But over all very pleased.
Need to work on a better left hand glove. The one I have now has rubber bands that help me extend my fingers but not strong enough to bring back thumb so I can grasp forarm better.
I found out after shooting around 50 targets, that I need to raise the scope about 1.5'' higher so my head stays perfectly erect. I want to shoot with eyes not rolled up as if I'm shooting with stock up to cheek. But just as if I'm shooting sitting straight up. and eyes centered in sockets. The pic shows the two machined 1.5'' pillars installed.
The testing was done before the pillars were installed. I need to get the height right before sending to Simmons to make the scope mount on barrel
And how did I do? Lets just say I shot my personal best score to date.

Painted the upper post and back side of scope a neutral gray so as not to stand out against back ground and more importantly...the target. All I want to stand out is the red dot on or next to the target. In other words...just you and the Target. With both eyes opened it will be easier to focus on target. Only point of reference I need is the DOT
Had to leave a small part on back of scope un painted cause this is where some of the adjustments are.
I'v been practicing not canting gun during swing, this is done at home. One thing about the extreme height of scope is that it's easy to see if I'm perfectly plumb.
Next I'l have my wife make me a better glove for my left hand...need to be able to grasp forend better.

It's more difficult to grasp the forend of the Perazzi with my left hand then the slimmer Rem 1100. I'v removed some wood of the TM1 Perazzi months ago, but needed more. So off goes forend and a trip to the table saw. Now it's just as slim as the 1100. As you can see still need to blue the 1100 barrel after removing the rib.

Last week I received my application from ATA for my application for ''chair'' category which I filled out and sent back in. This will be reviewed by the CHC or Zone VP. Kathy from the ATA told me that they changed the rules and now you have to have a permanent condition and unable to stand to shoot, which I have.
Pic below is of the 1.5'' taller post, now 15'' high above barrel. This was done on both the 1100 and TM1.
Been doing a lot of shooting in back yard, anywhere from about 20 to 60 yards, I say ''anywhere cause a I DO NOT want to know exact distance, but rather rely on my own perceived distance so I can make a more instinctive swing to target. Since my line of sight is so high above barrel, I need to be able to learn where to put red dot in relation to target as if the gun is 50/50 at 35 yds then if closer, I need to have dot above target and slightly below after 35 yds. On long shots like 50 plus yards I can center dot on target cause of gravity. Fun to shoot at 100 yds lol
Red dot is at extreme top of pic.

Now that I'm getting a little stronger and can manage to to bring stock to shoulder for short periods of time, it's time to remove the elevated red dot scopes. Plus I was having a hard time getting the red dot on hard angles. I found myself more aiming then making an instinctive move and by the time I did swing to the target, it was already in another zip code.
So enter the ultra high rib...4'' to be exact! Due to the amount of steel in my neck, I'll never be able to bend neck to look flat down barrel.
So off goes the Perazzi to Roger Eubanks in Idaho so they can work their magic on an all steel rib. They said it will be the highest rib they ever made.
I shot my proto type high rib guns, both the Rem and Perazzi in my back yard with a 70/30 POI. So much faster to get on target looking down a rib compard to having one eye looking thru scope and other eye open. The Perazzi was sent last week and should take 6 to 8 weeks.
Below is a pic of the prototype Rem 1100 with high rib and comb.

Should get my TM1 with ulta high 4'' rib back today. It's sitting at the Fedx building...of all places, Vandalia Ohio at the airport. I promised my wife I won't get all misty eyed when looking over those empty trap fields when picking up my gun. Can't wait to see Roger Eubanks work.

    Thanks wpt.
Eubanks did a fantastic job on building this rib to my specks. It's 4'' high by 12'' long at top. Now I need to raise comb.

I just read this post from start to finish and must say I admire your dedication and ingenuity. Impressive to say the least. It's cool to see new ways to break targets. Keep at it!

    Thanks guys.
Called up Pat at StockLock and he sent some inter locking spacers to raise comb up +- 3''.
The hard part was trying to find long enough 8 x 32 black anodized socket screws.
Called up Fastenal and they special ordered some. Should get them today.
In pic are the inter locking 1/2'' long spacers.

    Thanks
I'll shoot some pattern shots at 35 yards. The sight picture looks good as does the laser bore sight in relation to rib. Should really be able to pic up target much quicker since my head is so erect and no receiver to look around. I shoot with both eyes open also.

Here's a pic of the shouldered gun. It's still difficult to hold gun this high but a few more months of therapy should be much better. Camera makes as if I'm canting barrel. Looking straight down rib.
Wearing a special glove on left hand that helps me open fingers to grasp forend.

Shot at a local club and at this point the Stocklock is just too heavy to raise to shoulder for any length of time. Plus more importantly is that my right hand can not grip a conventional grip to control recoil. So went back to my DIY super light weight pistol grip that I made last year. The majority of the recoil is absorbed by my hand, so much so that i had to put recoil dampening material on back side of grip. Just needed to add raised comb.
Reminds me of a Ljutic space gun. Hence name...Perluzzi

Rookie Shooter, have you ever thought about trying your set up with a semi auto like a 302. They don't weigh near as much as a P gun does at the start, and recoil less. I like your latest grip by the way. I like the plastic stocks on my auto hunting guns, less weight, a plastic fore end should help on you P gun some.

I may have missed it but is your rib delrone (plastic) or steel? I played with balsa wood on a rib back in the day to keep down the weight. I'd think someone with a 3 D printer could really help take out weight for you. I used the same thing you have on your grip for a lot of years back when I was shooting, good stuff. Brad

The rib is all steel, made by Eubanks gunsmithing in Idaho. Simmons removed the original rib when I had the elevated red dot. By removing the full length rib, narrowing down and gutting the large Perazzi forend including removing a large amount of forend iron and the extremely light stock, the P gun is now lighter then my Rem 1100. The 1100 might be sent out to Eubanks next year.
A pic of the underside of the narrowed and gutted forend is below...Warning may not be suitable for the timid

Needed to get the fulcrum point moved back within 1/2'' in front of hinge pin. This meant more guts of the forend had to be removed including wood and iron. This will give me the right balance and swing as the original TM1. But without all the weight, it was 10#, now it's an amazing 8 lbs 1 oz.!
In the pic, the gun is balanced on top of a candle.
