For those of you that haven’t been to a major SCTP Event, you would find scheduling much more like watching a softball game. The starting time and bank are key. Not the squad number like the ATA.

Family members start lining the bank long before the shooting starts. Tailgate tents are up nearby.

Assigning a bank to a large team enables the coach and team families to remain in place. Getting teens where you want them can be like herding cats. Critics might say this system doesn’t prepare the kids for ATA events. And you can’t run as many squads in a day. Vendors might say it gives the kids more time to shop.

If you are at the mega SCTP Nationals this week at the CC, you will see more empty traps than an ATA Event. You will also see 15,000+ people on campus.
