18.4 is .724 inch. You’re spot on the lead ball thing is correct in the Stone Age. The 16 bore is the perfect gauge with 1 oz. of shot.

There is little standardization in bore sizes. I shoot 18.4’s
.750 isn’t a standard 12 bore anyway.
