Was hoping to buy a bore gauge set for all 4 skeet gauges. While I’m not tied to the idea, the ‘skeet bore gauges’ that have since been discontinued but were at a more affordable price point seemed like a good buy and had my interest. Let me know what you have!
Go to ebay and buy a Mitutoyo 209-111 gage, then a .7500 setting ring. Once you get the technique down you can get +/- .001 I have one, and while I'm not sure I'd rely on it to order chokes if I wanted them to be EXACT and speced off the bore, it you just want to measure amt of constriction it will work just fine. You don't even really need the setting ring to measure constriction, since constriction is bore - choke. You should be able to do it for under 100 bucks. The only gages I've ever seen that would do all 4 gauges besides the Mitutoyo were the Stan Baker and 100 Straight ones, the Skeets never did 410 and I'm not sure they did 28ga either (they might have, they made two, but I'm not sure if the smaller one was 16/20 or 20/28). And I doubt you'll get a Stan Baker set for less than what you can order a 100 straight one for today.
If you want to know who deleted the link you posted, it was me. Flyersarebest Moderator ( the nice one)
Good info Skeetman. .410 is less important and I could probably do without. I’ll look into what you recommend but would still like to hear from others who may have a set for sale.
