rookieshooter, I don't have much information on the Pringles. I saw Twinkle's name some time back while researching and thought, gee, I'd better check out this shooter if only because of the name. Can you tell me the approximate year and where you shot with Ms. Pringle? I do know that she lived in PA, MD and FL. She was State Lady Champ in PA & MD I believe and made a couple All America Teams. I never met her but like you, would be interested to learn more about her. Thanks, HB
It would have been in the early 70's. At that time i was good friends with them and shot on plenty of squads with her and her husband Leon. Clubs would have been, Thurmont MD, which at that time was MD's state shoot, Carny gun club in Baltimore, Carroll county gun club MD, the Prince George' rod and gun club in MD, National Capitol gun club in MD, and Lock Raven gun club in Baltimore. If it help's, Ray Grebb (past president ATA) knew them well, as well as all the Grebbs. If my memory serves me correctly, either Leon or Twinkle and myself was the first squad ever to have a perfect squad during the Silver Dollar shoot at Lock Raven gun club. Prize was a bowl of all real Silver dollars. I know one of the Grebbs was also on that squad, might have been Ray's dad. Thanks for your time, i just love reading your history posts. Just edited: At the Silver Dollar shoot, Lucky Nightingale (past president of ATA), Richard (Dick) Forrest and Jerry Phillips were all shooting together on a squad also, Maybe Frank Little if this would help.
Thanks rookieshooter, Yes the information helps. I'll see what I can find out in the T&F magazines and maybe communicate with Ray to see if he knows of their where they went to. They seem to move around a lot. I have them living in Oxford, PA, Abingdon, MD, Churchville, MD and Jacksonville, FL. Looks like Pringle started shooting registered in 1973 and the last year I have her shooting ATA targets was 1981. I lost track of Leon after the 1982 season.
