In '69, Perazzi brought the TM1 and MX8 to the US and sold thru Puglisi in Duluth MN. That went on till '79 when Perazzi transferred the marketing to Winchester. At that time Perazzi changed the rib design from the original wider parallel rib to the tapered rib we all know. Winchester had the franchise for about a year. And then in '86 Perazzi changed from individual machining to CNC machining. Brought those guns out in '87 As "Specials"
I generally agree with what A26A wrote. However, I suspicion one could order whatever rib was desired. I have a Winchester import barrel that has a tapered rib and another Winchester import that has a parallel rib. Paul
And Paul is partially correct. The VERY FIRST Perazzi/Winchester guns came with the older style wide parallel rib. But within that first and only year they switched to tapered for most of the Winchester time period.
While waiting on the OP to email me so we can get back to the sale I had 3 different TM1's before Perazzi had anything to do with Winchester. Was Puglisi a distributor/wholesaler that would sell to dealers? Back when Ithaca had their name on them.
To me a special had an adjustable LOP trigger (P4) , the barrels were usually tapered, and "Perazzi TM1 special" stamped on the left side of the receiver This special was imported by Perazzi-USA, Monrovia,Ca.
TM1 guns are 60/40. However Perazzi made 50 total higher impact guns. About 80/20. Same for TMX. Then they got smart and made MX15 and said "Boys, have at it".
The OP contacted me and is going to try and email me the pictures which in turn I will try and post for him. That should get the For Sale part of this thread back on track.
