Std catalog of S&W 3rd edn. States it as an early K38. they started them in 1947 and K84150-K104047 were made in 1950. i'd love to see that one! you selling?
Thanks-- so likely about in the middle of that time frame--- those were thought of as the must have upgrade revolvers for both target shooting and hunting--- all K38s were hand fitted and test fired for accuracy back then Great bore on this Not certain if I am selling or not but decades ago I had tried to tie down the manufacture date and had gotten distracted before I found it Gene
glad I could help. I bought one nib back in the early 90's but couldn't bring myself to shooting (and ruining the nib) status; so, I sold it. I had the 25-2 for 45, and the colt officer match in 22....and filled the gap with the k38. I abandoned the revolver matches.....and stuck to semi autos. 1911a1, 38 midrange, and the high standards in 22. ahh the glory days of good eyes. regards........
