I just purchased a Model 12 Stock and Forearm, inletted and un finished and w/Grade 5 Checkering w/recoil pad fitted, I sent them inserts to replace wood screws w/machine screws w/flat Phillips head. First thing I will do when I get the wood set, is drill the recoil pad in 2 places with an 1/8th drill, top & Bottom, and tap in a 1/8th pin 1"inch long, take off the pad and re-drill so 1/8th inch sticks up for positioning the recoil pad so it is exactly in place.

I want my wood dark so I got a small can of Dark Walnut stain, a roll of Masking tape 1.88"inches wide to tape checkering, Sharp Pencils to outline/indent tape, and an Exacto Knife to cut out the Masking tape. A lint free cloth and a Tack Rag and #400 sand Paper and a small jar of TRU-OIL

I am now waiting for the Wood to come, fitted to my measurements, 14 1/8th " LOP, 3/8ths RH Cast, and Zero Pitch, 1 3/16ths Drop.

I will have adj comb done later if needed.
