Sparta Camping Extended

Renewal of Sparta WSC campsites has been extended until December 31, 2015. I have a suspicion renewals aren't the first things shooters are concerned about. I think most shooters will wait until the WSC has finalized everything and reopened. Something that now may be delayed until spring as a cost saving measure. Don't know that for sure just something an Illinois friend told me. I guess minimal maintainence spending during the winter months has gotten some attention.

 

I renewed for five years. It was cheaper than before and has a money-back guarantee if Illinois problems make it useless, but I don't worry about that at all. As far as I am concerned, as long as it reopens by the Grand, what do I care? It's a great place to shoot, has no unusable banks, and hosts the Grand American. What a deal! Nothing else comes close!

Why would the ATA be in bankruptcy? They are the ones guaranteeing the money.

 

Being more specific....if the ATA gives the camping monies to Illinois how do they get their money back?

The ATA has to pay the IDNR for all the sites leased or not. And wont the lease for the HOF be broken in a few days?

The ATA is sitting on about a $12M bankroll. I just wonder what they'll do with it if they're forced to either buy a facility they own or just fold up shop.

$12M goes quickly in a land purchase.

Interesting the renewal on my campsite went up substantially. $500 per year for a five year renewal.

Are they trying to push the campers into hotels to support the local economy?

$500 buys a few nights at a hotel.

 

I was told by some friends who had a spot for the past 10 years that the price was increased by 50%, so they went from $450 to $675 which is a pretty big jump any way you look at it ... There are places around like that K-River Motel that are actually very reasonable for parking and camping ... I wanted to get back there this year but wife had Doctors appointments for her follow up and that is far more important and came first on the list of priorities ... I could of probably went without her but then I wouldn't of had anyone to argue with and that would be no fun at all ... (kidding of course) ... I do not doubt there are going to be some prices adjusted to try and make the WSRC be around for awhile, have to see how that sits with the regulars ... Nothing on the States site as of yet ... I was wrong the bill for extending my campsite is $3,000 for 5 years so it's $600 per year. It's a premium site but I think I originally paid $4,400 for ten years. I guess I'm not getting the cheaper price others referred to.

You would be correct, if thats the case me and him wouldn't get along well at all ... I can't understand why the people of Southern Illinois are on the democratic band wagon unless they want to be kept under the wraps of the democratic organization ... I had an attorney who was a democrtic committee man, only on paper otherwise a pure republican ... Being alined with the democrates kept him in office and made him big money and gave him a lot of power ... Loved it when the Judge greeted him and talked about lunch right there in front of everyone ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I've lived it for 10 years since I've been down here. I'm moving back to central Illinois to get away from the liers and the depression.

 

OK, it looks like no matter who I talk to the rate for extending my campsite is quite a bit more expensive. So I don't know how that other guy got a cheaper deal. It must be the work of the "Empire" behind the scenes. Too many strange things going on so I'm going to hide my shotguns for awhile and stay away from shooting sites until things calm down. This double secret probation fiasco has everyone worried. I mean it's scary out there. For everyone hanging in remember you're always supposed to say, "things are just great," "the ATA is doing a wonderful job," "I have already sent my money in for the 2016 Sparta Grand," "WPT, Roger, Flyers, Trap2, Hap and many of their friends are very, very bad guys and I will not communicate with them." "I am so happy to be able to shoot at Sparta I will send all my extra money to the state of Illinois until the debt issue is resolved." See ya when the heats off!

 

They charge more for people who bash the ATA, and rightfully so!

 

Can someone, anyone please define bashing "bashing the ATA" so we can make sure its not just another persons perspective on the same subject that is not to the liking of the other person and or persons ... If everyone agreed on everything the world would be a very boring place and not everyone would be pleased with that either, so it seems ... If a person, organization, does something, anything that is not agreed on 100% and some one says something to that effect is that or should it be considered bashing ..? If that person or organization does something that turns out to be a mistake are those that bashed it still wrong for saying it was a mistake (bashing) or does that not really matter because they see things differently than those who made the mistake ..? People have rights and the right to speak their mind even though others may not like what any of the people might say, so they can be labeled a basher ... Next define "rightfully so" , so we can work on sorting that out also as opposed to with good reason ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Bashing is when that person is consumed with the same comments and repeats them over and over and on multiple websites. In other words " You made your damn point the first hundred times" so there is no need to keep repeating it.

Apparently I hit a nerve with you wpt when my comment was in jest to begin with so now it's my opinion that you know what you were doing all along.

 

I have no nerves to be hit and was wondering who made you the Boss for you to make that call or even suggest it ... There is nothing you could say that would effect me in any way, so don't flatter yourself ...
