I'm curious. I know for some people their first 100 straight came out of the blue so to speak and maybe weren't expecting it. I'm sure there are other folks who have been shooting for a long time and have never shot a 100 straight. For others though I would think they started shooting good scores on a consistent basis before they shot their first 100 straight. So, what scores were you shooting on a consistent basis before shooting your first 100 straight?
I started breaking a lot of 25 and 50 straights a couple pf months before my first 100 at the 1974 GAH. I don't think I had a 99 before that 100 but a few 97's and 98's.
Was shooting in the low to middle 90's with a 32" Belgian Browning O/U. Bought a new TM1 that a guy had won. He would not let me shoot it as was NIB. Felt right so bought it for $600 with case etc. Next day, 99 out of the box. 2nd day 99,100. Believed gun was a keeper. Went to AA in one shoot. This was in 1972. Still shooting this gun and has 1,750,000 rounds through it.
