Well, here we are in, I don'no, uh, week 3 or 4? My son who is in Grad School at Case in Ohio is home with me and wifey. He gets up at 4:30 for his live classes and studies most of the day. His GF is currently our 4th roommate. Interesting dynamic the young lady and the wife who has basically had the house to herself most of the time for quite a while.
Anyway, I am getting pretty darn good at making interesting jams from fruit in season around here. Kumquat and ginger jam. Passion fruit, mango and pineapple jam, strawberry with a bit of lavender jam, etc. My boy has broken out the ol' bread maker we put away years ago and we cooked up a sour dough start. Got a pound of yeast over the net and a sack of good flour. Now I remember why we put the darn machine away. Sure does make good bread but a loaf a day ain't exactly thinning me down.
Oh, and I am becoming quite a bartender. Not that I needed lots more on the job training but we are making lemon drop martinis from neighborhood lemons in many variations.
Reorganized/cleaned our panty, several cupboards, my "man cave," my closet and planted a bunch of stuff in the garden (lots of vegies).
Got some dyes and and now, in full California style, getting ridiculously good at making Tye dye stuff. There are actually methods and potential skill/artistic impression involved. Had more old t-shirts, sweat shirts and such that had a stain or two on them that I never threw out. Now I look like a flower child old man. :p
Been taking the dogs on a pretty good walk every day. Below is a picture of my Golden "when I told her quarantine would last at least another month. ;)
Anyway, so far so good. We are trying to stay safe for ourselves and others.
We are pretty fortunate to be able to weather this. I really think about and feel for the many, many people who this whole shut down-stay home is crushing. And, obviously for those suffering the effects of Covid.
How are you all holding up? Doing anything interesting?
    Cheers, Jake

I'm turning my little (14'X36") aluminum Jon boat into a bass boat. First, I sanded and painted the boat and trailer. Then I built a front casting deck, foamed below the other decks and installed decking. Pretty much 1/2" marine ply from bow to stern. Next is carpet and new swivel seats. The lakes I fish are "no wake" so I bought a new 6hp Suzuki 4 stroke and a pushbutton GPS controlled trolling motor along with a side scan fish monitor. Amazon is a wonderful place....computer to front door on everything. It will be the most tricked out "Tin Boat" on the lake(s)....LOL However, my wife has no confidence, she told me this morning after I finish the boat I'll never use it. It's all about the journey of boredom rather than the finish line. LOL

    How's the boat coming? Pictures?

I just looked at the dimensions 14 Feet x 36 inches? Man O' Man, that's going to be tight. RVH and I used to hunt ducks out of a 14' Radison canoe that was wider than that.

It's going good, Painted (boat and trailer.) front casting deck, rear deck, and floors are installed (1/2" marine ply), three chair bases, and a front hatch installed, and carpet is just beginning. I found out something. There are no straight lines in a boat. Everything has to be one-off hand-measured by the piece, patterned with cardboard then cut to size, and it still doesn't exactly fit...LOL. I'll take some new pictures and post. This is what it started out as, my $800 base 14 X 36" Alumacraft with a galvanized trailer.

Been playing lots of old retro games that I missed out on as a kid. I may be a millennial, but I had those types of parents that didn't let me play games that often as a kid and had me go outside instead. Caused me to miss out on lots of games and it wasn't until after my stay in Juvenile Hall that I got to play games as well as go outside. So yeah, God bless emulators because not only can catch up on old games I missed out on, but it makes it super easy to introduce my own kids to old retro games that in many ways are better than modern games.

Loaded 25 flats of 12 ga for trap, cleaned and sorted brass and loaded 100's of rifle and handgun rounds from 222 thru 375 H&H, Handgun from 9MM to 44 Mag. Now I am painting turkey tail feathers and making wingbone turkey call. Don't know what is next.
