There have been some discussions about target costs recently. Not all clubs charge the same amount for targets. Why? What should they charge? I report. You decide. merlo out
Not all clubs charge the same prices for targets because the cost of throwing targets are not the same for each club. The smaller clubs have "voluntary labor" where members run the shoots and perform the labor of fixing/repairing traps, keeping score, mowing the grass, repair the buildings, ect. Other larger clubs, such as the Cardinal Center and the Middletown Sportsman's Club, have several full-time employees that do everything perviously mentioned, but at a cost. Labor cost is the #1 expense at any shoot. If that cost can be minimzed, or even eliminated, the target costs can be greatly reduced. Just my two cents worth..................
Real estate taxes are another cost that will vary a lot from club to club. A club located close to or in a metro area most like would pay a lot more r.e. taxes than a club located in a rural area.
Let the clubs charge according to their over head costs. If to high the shooters will not attend, if to low they will not last very long, either way. Roger C.
