I do not understand why the ATA does not have just one shell manufacturer for the season. Let these vendors compete for our purchases. The shell company that can provide shells the cheapest for the year gets the business. They also have the advertising for the year. Advantages: We all would be shooting the same shell. Cost would come down. On second thought wouldnt this idea be great for the next organization? The American Trapshooting Organization! Coming soon....
"provide shells the cheapest." WHAT. The only thing the ATA is interested in is ....What's in it for them, screw the shooters. Regards Gerald
Personally, I do not think that would be a very good idea being as it would eliminate any possibility of competition price wise, which already has been limited to Cabela's since the State of Illinois put restrictions on ammunition purchases without jumping through hoops at additional cost any way ... If the ATA goes back to mandatory new shells it would probably be the final nail in the coffin the grand is already in ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
WPT..you would be taking bids on shells. The cheapest supplier gets the bid. If no cheap prices come in then you go with the status quo. Imagine a small shell manufacturer wanting their name out there. Suddenly they become a signature sponsor. It works for NASCAR with tires.
Shooter96, You are talking in a perfect world, have serious doubts it would work ... Personally, I think the only place they should be able to buy new shells is WalMart and eliminate Cabela's onsite all together ... Don't think that's going to happen either ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
