I don't want to disrupt your post but I have the same scope and pretty sure it is a second focal plane, not a FFP. It's an awesome scope for the money.

 

CORRECTION: Scope is SFP (second focal plane) AND reticle IS illuminated! Scope has been sitting unused on a rifle so long that I forgot the details.
