I found it interesting last week. My son and I were talking about life after high school and the college he will attend. I asked him if he thought he would come back to shooting after college. He said once he gets a good job he absolutely wanted to stay with it. He asked for graduation if I thought it would be to much to buy him a life membership so he could keep shooting with his old man.. Made me kinda proud!

Sounds like he has his priorities straight.

I say yes but I would ask or do one thing. You pay one half and he pays the other half of a life membership. That way he has earned his half and is more likely to keep shooting. Its not just given to him.

Sign him up and pay for it. What the heck. Then let him load his own shells.

I'd take no chance on him not coming back and buy it if you can afford the cost. Even if he doesn't come back, I am sure many memories were created for both of you via his membership to date. At least by having a life membership, he will have an object of remembrance to help pull up/out all those good times.

Yes, this son of mine is not used to getting things handed to him. I know most kids these days feel entitled but not this kid. He loads the bulk shared of 35000 shells per year and worked all summer for his trap gun. I was honored he asked me to give him a membership when he said he wanted to use it after college to stay connected with the old man.
