We were chatting at the club yesterday about the upcoming Buckeye Classic. The subject came up as to which venue will throw the most targets this year.
http://www.shootata.com/Portals/0/pdf/2014 GC Total Targets For Website.pdf World shooting complex 3,979,000 Cardinal Center 2,750,050 These are the numbers for registered ATA targets last year.
One certainly could not dispute the figures coming directly from the ATA. After all, they have always presented themselves as being so open and transparent!
Micheal I'm pretty sure the ATA is open and transparent when it comes to target totals. They might even print a book every year that lists EVERY target shot.....
Loudone's numbers are probably realistic. The numbers shown by loudone are more of an indictment of some of the decisions that have been made. Consider that Vandalia threw 1/2 million on a day. That was the day before the Vandalia Handicap which was almost as big. It was after the Singles event which had a many targets thrown.
Smoking?? Why would you think that might be a difficult question? World shooting complex hands down. Why because they also have two sporting clays ranges, they are open every week, have small registered shoots, host skeet tournaments. There is more to the place then just the Grand. Sorry if you were looking for an argument. Lefty
Looks like Smoking 357 bailed out on this..... I did some research and found a link over at https://www.nssa-nsca.org if someone has a log in and the NSSA/NSCA club number they have skeet and sporting totals.
Lefty We have added two new ATA events this year as well as a three day NSCA registered event in August with $30,000+ in cash and added prizes. We are also open to the public Wednesday-Sunday, as well as hosting monthly NSCA registered events. Eclipsing Sparta this year is a tall order, but I hope to in the near future.
Isn't that the weekend before the Cardinal Classic? Nice having $30,000 preliminary days before your big shoot.
$30K just for the 3 days before the Cardinal Classic. This will create some serious numbers for the CC.
5 years ago I would have said it was a tall order. There will be more to be won at the CC this year. The people that run the ATA keep lowering the bar.
