Model 12 Built Up Trap Reduced Price, SOLD

This Model 12, #933422, started its life in 1942 as a 2-3/4 chamber, 30", Full, NICKLE STEEL plain barrel. Somewhere along the line it had a vent rib added to its barrel, a full length rib extension to its receiver, and a set of nicely grained furniture that was well finished and checkered. White spacer under the Black plastic grip cap has yellowed but that is normal for one this old.

Not sure which company did the rib work. Square posts. Money Maker?, Herters?, Simmons is not marked on the side of the rib but from my research that full receiver extension was offered as a $5.00 option by them. Metal center bead and Bradley white front.

There are idiot marks on the receiver from the previous owners trying to put the gun back together without making sure the action bar was out of the way. The pictures can better show this. The take up ring looks as if it is in its original position or maybe moved one notch. Gun is tight when putting back together. Bore is bright. Blue loss at the edge of the muzzle and the mag tube from working the action. The 32 other pictures will show all of this.

The stock wood does have some dings, bumps, and scratches but no cracks, gouges, or splits. The one picture shows some small pin sized marks on the stock, probably from the guys sweater or the snap on a Bob Allen coat pocket and a ding on the comb. The stock has already been cut for an adjustable comb so you won't have to pay for that. Pictures show the comb off the stock so you can see the work. There is a straight Morgan pad on the gun. Length of pull to the back of the pad is 14"

The forearm matches the stock nicely and is in really good condition. The front ring on the forearm has had a wrench put to it and could use some work to make it look nice again. Overall a well used but not overly abused Model 12 with a Nickle Steel barrel. This would be a great gun to have redone OR, just take to the club and shoot without touching it. 3 day non firing inspection period.

I am very surprised that this gun hasn't sold. If it is a Money Maker rib from the original company, these were very well done. Mine shot a little higher than one would with a Simmons rib. It also has the nice extended forarm.
It sounds like a very honest description has been given!
