I just talk to Hodgdon today about their Winchester 572 smokeless powder for the Winchester 28 gauge shell. I noticed they have a recipe for the 2 2/3” WINCHESTER AAHS AND SUPER-X HS PLASTIC SHELLS but NOT for the 2 2/3” WINCHESTER AA PLASTIC SHELLS? So I asked why? He told me that they were all out of the 28 gauge 2 2/3” WINCHESTER AA PLASTIC SHELLS and WADS and they considered them obsolete. So they didn’t do any testing on the 2 2/3” WINCHESTER AA 28 gauge PLASTIC SHELLS. My reply was I know many shooters that still have once fired and new 2 2/3” WINCHESTER AA 28 gauge PLASTIC SHELLS. I also asked sense in other instances the same powder is used in the in the AAHS and the CF AA (12,20,410 gauge) so can you use the Winchester 572 in the CF AA 28 gauge, and he said no. He also stated that the Winchester 572 meters a lot better than the 800X? I would love to hear from you guys on this dilemma. Thanks
