Gipson ATA Surprise at Lack of Funding Outright Lie?

The Illinois state legislature has allotted no money to the World Shooting 916 Complex in the last several years. A Bill is currently before the legislature to 917 correct this revenue shortfall.

So when were they lying or not?

On June 30, Rauner dealt the WSRC another blow when he voted a $157,000 earmark for road resurfacing inside the complex. “We gave the state everything we could when we moved here,” Gipson said. “Everything that wasn’t nailed down at Vandalia, we gave to them for the shooting complex.” Gipson to Herald Tribune

Are the minutes false?

Can we remember Gipson's statement to the media August last year?

“Confused and disappointed would be probably two fairly accurate assessments,” said Gipson, when asked the ATA’s reaction to the situation. “Most of our members are not from Illinois and not familiar with Illinois politics.” Gipson to Herald Tribune

Gipson does business in Illinois. Confusion?

This is no longer about a big shoot, or what was once our flag shoot. This is about lies, deception, and more lies.

I am not and have never claimed to be a Legal Wizard, but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn a time or three and I will say, I have no reason to doubt what the Governor has said all along (consistency counts for something ) and the story always changes or seems to any way with the ATA, The (Talking Head) Lynn Gispon making claims that are not and will never be reachable (10/20 million local and regional economy, then 20 /30 million in the region) , the attendance figures dropped off from 100,000 shooters and visitors (claimed by the ATA) to last years high (drum roll , PLEASE) 2004 entry's in one event , so with the benefit of the doubt lets say 4,500/5,000 total for the day ... My calculator is broke but that is a far cry from 100,000 even if you count all of the residents of Sparta who showed up (twice) ... I hate to say it but I am betting on the Governor ... WPT ... (YAC) OUT ...

 

One might wonder if the Governor and the State of Illinois just may be getting a bit tired of the ATA and it's constant baggage.....

 

They had a jar for donations at the club yesterday, nothing in it but it was there (guess you have to start someplace) ... Mentioned Sparta to a table full of long time shooters, everyone started laughing and said they should let it die ... Enough is enough already ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

I seriously doubt this is a surprise to anyone, especially those who have been (supposedly) in the negotiations (ED, EC, ) and have assured everyone that all is well and they are back heading in a "FanASStastic Direction" ... Kind of reminds me of jumping in a hole, not knowing where the bottom is ... I ask what happened to the tentative, Probable, possible, Mous agreements that were supposed to happen and they were assured of on a video, ( I might add) for the world to see ... All dressed up and no place to go ..?
I hope all of this is nothing more than a bad dream, but cannot help but think reality has reared its ugly head one more time ... I don't think there is any doubt that the EC, ED and some of the BOD are right on top of this and have an alternate plan in the works ... The grand is owed to the members and its tradition will live on for ever, even if its only a memory ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
