Pohl was shot in the chest about 4:40 p.m. outside the United Sportsmen Inc., a shooting club located at 4700 Evora Road in Concord. Contra Costa Sheriff's officials initially said the death was not criminal in nature but are going to investigate the death. They have not said how Pohl was shot or by whom. An autopsy found he died from a gunshot wound to the chest, according to sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee.
