Dumping the pre-squad system

Is is time to eliminate pre-squadding for all registered shoots?

 

Why?

 

Just send money-the clubs will appreciate your donation. After you find out the best banks and starting times were already reserved for the primadonnas, you can turn in your tickets and re-squad. It's the American way of doing business.

 

I would like to hear 101 tell us how it worked for him in the past.


Pre-squadding is designed to coddle the primas.

 

I'm a long damn way from Prima Donna status but I presquad for all six shoots at CC. Been doing it for six years and never have an issue getting the banks or times I want. It's called PRE - squadding, meaning you send in your request in advance. What's your issue?

 

What was life like in the days prior to presquading? Were times tuff?

 

Assigned banks are the only fair way to do it.

 

You sound like prima donna and probably can tell us how well you have got the banks you wanted in PA or other big shoots. Six years is a long time......not. Tell us Columbus how it works everywhere. Tell us how it is better now.

It didn't work so well last year at the CC either.

 

Worked fine for me. Got the banks I wanted, and the time and squad position too. Just have to ask far enough in advance. With six shoots at CC I'll use the motorhome for other things the rest of the time. No need to go anywhere else to shoot Trap.

 

If used properly, the pre squad system works good, as it is designed to do ... This is not rocket science and with a little co operation from everyone involved most of the problems should be eliminated ... Happy Easter , WPT ... (YAC) ...

When I started shooting at my first couple of grands we didn't even get to pick our post let alone our squad in handicap. You paid your money and the office squaded you as your yardage filled up. The most fair system ever. In singles and doubles you could pick your squad but you had no idea what traps you'd be on or even which direction you would shoot. Also you would skip 8 to 10 traps, NO BANKS, even went one way odd the other. Brad

 

The idea works, the people running things can really mess you up for pre- squading. Had much trouble in Wyoming a few years back. Lady working in squading kept moving people around and I ended up on one man squads. I pre-squaded on all full squads as I have trouble lifting the gun on short fast squads. It did not work out at all. I finally pulled out and moved over to Montana, and no problems there. Roger C.

 

I sometimes presquad to get a early handicap squad so I am not shooting on my dinner and pool time.Nice to be done before 2pm at the state shoots and have time for some vendor shopping. Shooting is a head game,backgrounds, trees ,buildings,wind ,weather, just adds to the head game.The pro's have control over the head game.Eye on the rock,head on the stock.If Harlan Campbell Jr can break 200 on bank X,does that mean everyone can do it?
