Has anyone noticed how their BP medication effected their scores if any?

Some yes, some no. If you are on Beta Blockers your body reacts to stress differently (that's why they are banned in Olympic competition). Many people have a much easier time dealing with stress on Betas and because of this can concentrate better and perform at a higher level because they are not distracted. Do these drugs make you better? No, you can't perform beyond you talent level, but yes you can often get the most out of your ability. This is a non-medical opinion, but based on personal experience.

I have been told that certain Medications can slow down your reactions ... When I shot with my Cardiologist he said mine is not slowing me down so don't worry about it ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Beta blockers made me ache all over. I quit taking them, the hurt went away. I've had other shooters tell me the same. Brad

I am on hefty dose of beta blockers and just shot a 25, 22, and 23 yesterday. Have been on the stuff so long now, its just part of life. I am happy to see the green side of the grass in the morning! Steve

Thanks guys for your comments. Been on the stuff for about 5 years after my open heart surgery (4 way bypass) and just took up shooting again after a brief lay-off of over 30+ years. Shot a 50 bird Calcutta yesterday with a 24 first trap and was in the money going to last station on the 25 yd line which was the max when I dropped 3 targets, ouch! Maybe I need to add 1/2 tablet more, just kidding.
My Heart Dr said I need to take them every day, so I have no choice in the matter.

I had a massive heart attack when I was 47, a second stent in 2006, open heart surgery in 2011 (Oct 5, 2011 @5:15 PM) ... I have been on medications ever since the heart attack, even more since the open heart ... I asked my Cardiologist if one ever comes back from open heart surgery, he said some do, some don't ... Not sure which one I am yet ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Beta blockers has slowed my reaction timing, donot notice it too much in Trap but in Sporting Clays it is sure noticeable

I noticed a problem seeing and tracking targets when I started taking blood pressure and AFIB meds, one of which was Metoprolol, a beta blocker. Years ago someone on that other forum mentioned the same problem and he was also taking Metoprolol. It's frustrating cause I have to take it.
