They presented to the Executive Committee a proposal to host future Grand American Tournaments. The Cardinal Campground and Shooting Facility is a private campground and shooting facility that was established by its founder Jack Fishburn and family that was set up for generational success. The facility sits off of Interstate 71 in central 972 Ohio. It has been in operation since 2005 with its first shoot occurring in 2006. Since 2006, the Cardinal Center has grown in shoots and size. · The Cardinal Center currently has 12 program target banks and 1 bank of practice. · The Cardinal Center is currently home to SCTP Nationals and the OSTA State Shoot plus numerous private shoots. · The Cardinal Center is a state-of-the-art campground that currently has 501 campsites, 376 campsites with sewer, water and electric; 125 campsites with water and electric, along with 33 cabins on-site. · It currently has a banquet facility that can house groups of 25o and an Indoor Activity area that can house up to 350 people. · The Cardinal Center sits off Interstate 71, which is a direct route to downtown Columbus. The downtown Columbus airport is 35 miles from the Cardinal Center. · Within a 20 mile radius, there are 4,144 hotel rooms. Also starting in the fall, there are plans for construction of a 74 room hotel being built right near the Cardinal Facility. At the entrance to the facility, there is a full-service restaurant that has 200 seats. Given the proximity to Columbus, which is only 25 miles south, there are numerous restaurants, shopping, and entertainment options. · In 2018, the Cardinal Center invested in Shotstop, a shot curtain that offers shooters a consistent background and a way to help lead reclamation. It was noted that Ohio was the home of the Grand American for 82 years. The Cardinal Center understands the sheer size of the Grand American shoot, and that it would need to expand the size of the facility itself. The Cardinal Center would expand in three ways: · The Cardinal Center would first expand the shooting line. The Cardinal Center proposes to expand with another 8 program target banks, and 1 more bank for practice targets· · The Cardinal Center would also build another Central Entry Building that would have enough space to facilitate the Grand American registrations, squadding, and classification · · The Cardinal Center also has plans to expand the campground itself. Currently the plans are to expand up to 605 full-service campsites. The Cardinal Center and Jack Fishburn also own a majority of the surrounding ground that could help facilitate further expansion. The expansion would take 24 months to complete. A written proposal for hosting the Grand American was given to President Dean which is on file at the ATA Headquarters. The Cardinal Center representation concluded their remarks by stating that their facility could offer longevity and security to the ATA for the Grand American Tournament. President Dean thanked Mr. Fishburn and the representatives from the Cardinal Center for their presentation, and he told them that their proposal would be discussed at the December meeting of the Executive Committee
