ATA Held Hostage - - - Week 11 - - - Deadbeat Edition! $$$

As per Southern Illinoisan news the State of Illinois is a deadbeat. The utilities are being shut off at the state parks. No money no fuel.

As per Les Winkler, writer for the paper said:

A couple superintendents talked about removing oil or propane fired heating systems at their offices and maintenance in favor of wood burning stoves.

And, that’s the truly sad part. The state may not be meeting its obligations, but, as usual, the citizens of the state are paying the price.

I sure hope the THOF knows this.

Poor old Punkin would melt, the guns would rust, and clay targets would turn to mush...

I hope they can remove the siding, trusses and steel work so they can at least recoup some of the money already spent on that building. Reading this I don't believe I would go further in finishing this building without some concrete knowledge that the "Park" will remain open for years to come.

This is a sad situation to be in.

The Governor has a scheduled meeting for the 18th of Nov, with all parties concerned to try and come up with a budget of sorts ... Based on all of the outstanding financial obligations and a back log of bills that are in the rears and well over due they project the State of Illinois will have a deficit of well over 10 Billion dollars by Dec 1, 2015 ... The State of Illinois initiated Tax capping some years ago so if they raise the taxes the maximum amount they can legally it still will not come close to closing the gap ... The State of Illinois has never had a balanced budget but they have never been in this much financial distress in all the years that I can recall ... They are talking about eliminating Christmas decorations at and in the Capital building like that is going to make the difference of a fart in a hurricane ... Chicago is the worlds largest shooting gallery, open 24/7 for your convenience and don't forget to vote early and often ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
