ATA and Scholastic Clay Target Program fees

I do not see what the benefit is for the SCTP to pay fees to the ATA. Not saying there isn't one. I just don't see it.

 

I would assume its a courtesy on the part of the SCTP more so then anything, in reality they do not need the ATA ... The SCPT actually has enough shooters to be their own association if they are capable of record keeping and keeping track of the scores ... I do not think the soft ware would be unreasonable even if they had to purchase same ... In the techy world we are living in today there might already be a program that would fit the bill ... Personally, like you I do not see much if any advantage for the SCTP to be forced to join the ATA other than the ATA can boast about additional membership ... The people running and operating the SCTP might (must) see some advantage at least for the mean time ... They appear to have a really good handle on what they are doing as it is , might figure if its not broke why fix it ..? The ATA's newest and latest Motto is "If its not broke , we can fix that to .." WPT ... (YAC) ...
