Went to the local P.D. - Ask if they keep a lost and found list? -- Dispatcher said "they did" - I said "I found a 9 mm - two clips and a new box of shells in the city dumpster and if anyone can identify it I have it" --That brought the chief out of his office -He said, "I have to bring it in for they can check the serial numbers, it may be stolen." ---I replied -- "Thats OK I checked it twice and there isn't any serial numbers on it "--- that brought him out behind his glass wall to the lobby and ordered me to bring them in --- out to the car I went and by the time I got back in he had another officer with pen and paper ready -- Handed him the box and he opened it up -- that's when he said "I should throw you in jail just for being stupid" I replied --" But It is a new 9MM someone must be missing it!!!! --------------P.S. Chief is retiring next month. I can wait him out
