Mosser. Why? It was never effective as it was written . I had to shoot industry the last year it was in existence. All it did was add expense to the trophy list. It was eliminated to help clubs and trophy providers save money. Then some one decided that we need more catagory trophies I think we should have an attendance trophy. It seemed to work out well for the Skeet game. They are over run with shooters at their shoots. Roger C.
I would not. It would serve no purpose or add anything to our sport, but extra cost. Who would determine who was to be in this class? Would it be only the top guns or anyone that wants in? Why should some one working for a manufacturer be penalized for his line of work. As an industry Rep. they were not allowed to play any of the options, do you think that was fair? At one time the manufacturers only hired top guns. Then they found out being a top gun did not make them all top salesman. We have way to many classes now why add more. Roger C.
I agree with Roger, way too many classes for trophies just an added cost for many clubs for sometimes only one or two shooters almost a trophy for just showing up. We need to make the trophies worthwhile winning in competition.
Roger, You asked I think if you are getting free shells because you work for a shell manufacturer you may have an unfair advantage....don't you?
I could be more competitive with free shells. Can only afford reloads for what few shoots I attend. Would be big advantage! We are the Amateur Trapshooting Association or the one I shoot in is called that.
Mosser, If the job description requires an employee to shoot, the shells are part of the employment contract. Free shells do not make a champion. Hard work and the will to win are the key components. manordr, Free shells are not the answer, your reloads should be just as good at breaking targets as new shells. Do you think just because a shooter is good at what he does, he should not be an amateur? There are many different levels of amateur abilities. Work at it when you are proficient at the game then you can declare as a pro. Roger
Roger you are missing the fact that if someone else was paying for the shells you could use that money for more entry fees. Basically you could shoot twice as much. I know I tend to shoot better when I'm shooting more targets.
I'm with Iwoa Guy on this one, if shells are free everyone could/would shoot more providing they had the time and most everyone shoots better the more they shoot
I'm in agreement with Roger on this one. It was a waste of money and did not accomplish anything. Seems many don't really understand what it was during at least its last couple decades of existence.
