I called Charitynetusa @ 877-857-9002, They told me everything is public record, All contracts MUST BE FILED PUBLIC RECORD, you can go where that 501c3 was filed and get a copy of everything, nothing is private. Gary Bryant GB......................................DLS
I called the ATA yesterday and asked for Certified Copy of the ATA Contract of Lynn Gipson's contract, I demanded a copy as the ATA Is a 501c3 Corporation, a Public record NON-Profit Organization, and they MUST send me a CERTIFIED COPY OF HIS CONTRACT by the ATA,If they fail to do so can face Horrific Fines, for non compliance. Gary Bryant GB..................................................DLS
Keep us posted Gary, you the man, Man ... WPT ... (YAC) ... Fix your phone I have tried to call you several times to no avail ...
Good luck getting the contract!!! I have never seen it and I believe at a minimum the delegates should know at a minimum the mechanics of bonuses and who performs performance evaluations.
It's certain that the Board of Directors have no knowledge of the performance goals and/or other determinations that an Executive Director must achieve in order to receive incentives and bonuses, so perhaps one of the Executive Committee members might enlighten members as to those elements. If the Executive Committee established these goal oriented rewards and not the Board of Directors, then it appears the ATA has made false representation on their IRS & ILAG Form 990 reports. Paging Mr. Shaw, Mr. Hayes, Mr. Wehking, Mr. Cook and Mr. Rhoads.
I told you guys as a 501 C3 they can have no secrets. The whole organization is public knowledge. Go for it Gary, prove to them they are not gods. Roger C.
IN THE POST, ( I'm told contract is not for members eyes.) The second post I stated in a 501 C3 there are no secrets. All material is public property. Roger C.
Kiner you and I have had this conversation in private many times. The EC needs to get the info out. Thanks for speaking up, but I doubt you have any luck until you get one of your lawyer buddies involved.
How many of us remember going through this same thing with David Bopp? I know Bopp had an attorney involved, not sue if the membership did. Bottom line, no one ever saw a word of his contract. Can’t imagine what has changed today. Not saying I like it, but that was the way it was then and I think that is the way it will be now.
Someone must have a lot to hide to endanger the status of a 501c3. My attorney says anyone must be permitted access to the document and the minutes surrounding the decisions. These guys could draw an audit.
Not with a 501 C3 The IRS can get involved, not a good idea for the EC. The IRS can and will revoke the 501 C3 and back date it as far back as they see fit. I was involved with a club that it happened to. It cost us $36000.00 to settle with them and attorneys.Roger C.
Gary.... hope you get further with your request than I did when I tried to find out where the $250,000 went that disappeared from the AIM program after the grand was moved from Vandalia to Sparta. I've asked several of the VP'S and no one has ever been able or willing to explain where it went... Who's pocket did it end up in???
Maybe that is where the $250,000. came from that was given to the H.O.F. feisco. I think it is time to have EC past and present questioned under oath. That would either exonerate them or prove them as unfit to be in charge of the organization. And maybe the IRS would be interested in any gains the may have made. Roger C.
This just in : Until the EC, ED, and some of the BOD get hauled into a Court of Law and questioned with the heat and pressure applied nothing (as in NOTHING) is going to happen and it will be business as usual for the ATA and those standing in line for their free gun and all expenses paid ... The ED, EC, and many on the BOD have made the ATA a Cash Cow so they make sure they are well taken care of, catered to, and treated like Rock Stars ... You can probably count on one hand the men with any Honor or Integrity sitting on the ED, EC, and BOD seats ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
Hey Fellas, ya'll goin' to sleep on this thing, or did you forget to take your Geritol? It's been a long "week."
