Hi, I am looking for anyone who shoots a Browning CX for trap. Just basic information that has information about likes and dislikes and anything else they think I might be interested in reading like barrel length, adjustable comb or not. Just anything you thing is important.
I shoot my CX for trap occasionally, when I'm not shooting my 682 Gold E Trap X combo. I shoot it better since dropping the Limbsaver AirTech recoil pad two inches. That allows me shoot it with a more upright head position, which improves my vision. I have not put an adjustable comb on it.. I prefer a 50-50 or 60-40 gun for trap. What's important is that I like the way it feels in my hands, it's a handsome gun, solid, and a bargain. The MIdas choke tubes are also a nice selling point. I like the gun, a lot.
I used to use one as my all around gun. Now I have Cxs for sporting clays and Beretta 682 for trap. Was great gun. Sd it to a friend who is still shooting it.
The CX is designed to be a fairly flat shooting gun, so if thats your cup of tea, should work fine. I have a CXS I use for sporting and really like the gun. Hell of a lot of gun for the money.
Browning says the CXS is a 50/50 shooter, the CX is 60/40, and the CXT is 70/30. Of course, that all depends on how each gun fits the shooter.....
