ATA members may be encouraged to hear there are honest delegates. Note the following: The attached documents are confidential and provided to you because you are a member of the Board of Directors. These documents are not meant for public display. That is Executive Director Lynn Gipson’s exact wording included with the 990 forms. I was thinking these are to be open for public inspection. For the good of the organization shouldn’t we be calling on more delegates to do the right thing? And who has a copy of his contract? Should that be open for inspection? Thanks to you honest troops in the trenches. I report. You decide. Merlo out
That would be one of the Major problems with the ATA, not enough transparency ... The Members have a right to know ... Since when with all of the secrets ..? WPT ... (YAC) ...
Merlo, Tell the BOD member to make sure that other members have received the same document. This could be a fishing expadition on the EC's part. Roger C.
If memory serves me correctly, I believe at one time members could request copies of the ATA's annual financial statement, the one the Delegates get. According to past IRS Form 990's the ATA stated they mail them to each Board of Director and pass them out at the annual meeting. Of course the annual meeting is for the Delegates but I think they still allow us ordinary members to attend. So, do they give them out to Delegates a second time or the passed out to members? HB
Did anyone remember the comment I received years ago? The members will be given the information on a "NEED TO KNOW BASIS" . Nuff said ~
Here is the 9-30-18 990. The one they just filed was the 9-30-19 990, and its not on the IRS site, yet. I will keep checking. Probably be awhile before its available. Highlights of this one is the profit from the Grand is just enough to cover Gipson's salary. Which from my accounting experience in Toledo, OH is right about 60k a year above average for the size of the organization's revenue. Executive salaries vary widely, with # of employees, revenue, and geographic location all being factors. A quick google search of median household income in Sparta IL is 44,000. So, for running a non profit in rural IL, the director makes over four times the average in the area.
Management doesn’t trust the business owners. Time to get rid of management. (and thanks for the add)
Speaking of Money, Does anyone know if Bradford's latest appeal for money from the shooters for the Illinois owned HOF building, got enough in to pay off the loan so the State can own it free and clear ?
