Bt-99 with 34" full choke shoots 70/30 for me.Gun is in very nice condition .Contacted Browning and this gun was a special Leo gun with number on top of receiver. This is a blue receiver with more itching on receiver than a regular Bt 99 not the Leo Pigeon gun. This gun has nicer wood and blueing than a regular BT-99.LOP is approx.14-3/4" with Kic -Ez pad.Have a lot of money in the gun but i dont shoot it so has to go $1200.00.Believe it is a late 1970 gun with beaver tail forearm.Pictures later today or email me for pictures. Thank you Gary birddogskip@hotmail.com
Gary, we don't have that dumbass 50 post rule but we do have a few. Needing pictures is one of them. Thanks
Thank You Along with the pictures a good description, fixed choke? choke tubes? barrel length? serial number?(that way the guys can figure the year of birth) Leo's Special number? and any other specs you can show will help. BTW, after the pictures are up? It won't last long!!!! .
My 1 of 400 Leo Special SN 168 was made in 1986 NIB ...... all I got here was low ball offers, Sold on GunBroker for $3400
I believe you are correct. Browning told Gary it was 1991. I thought these were earlier than the fancy Leo Specials that were Grade 6 Pigeons with the engraving and Gold birds. I know there were Silver receivers. I think? some of the Grade 6's had Blue receivers with the Gold inlays. I kinda stopped going to the shop a few years before Leo passed away so maybe? the 1991 date is correct and this model came out after the fancy ones were done? Tough to find out all the Leo Special models and dates. I started buying from Leo when I was 16 and you had to go into his basement under the house. LONG before he built the new buildings. Living about 4 minutes from Leo's shop, I walked a lot of the time, and being in there 4-5 times a week I should remember all the runs but that was a while ago and he didn't consult me before they made the next batch. Remember when Browning started all the Winchester reproduction rifles? Since for a few years there Leo was the BIGGEST Browning dealer in the country( from the small town of Library of all places) who do you think got a LOT of serial #1 guns? Gary, Congrats on the sale. Told ya it wouldn't last long. Edit: I went back and searched a little. There was a number 237 with the same engraving pattern that sold on GA years ago that was made in 1990.
I went back to see the pictures in our For Sale section but I can't find it. Was it the same engraving as the one that just sold or was it a Special Grade 6 Pigeon with the Gold birds?
Yep ....looks like this, had Browning Documention letter too, NIB. Then I get "40 Questions" from creepo's when there were 10+ pictures & all the details ..... Creepo's never buy anything.
This style of Leo Special makes three runs maybe. All I have or have seen have DEEP engraving and GOLD inlay...... This one that sold has neither?? Run 3 of just a variation like My #400 DEEP engraving and GOLD inlay on Silver (French Gray) reciever. Looks like ....
