Drawing for banks is going to make Linn Creek fair.

I am hearing all this crap about Linn Creek having mostly “non-resident banks.” With the bank drawing system we will see everyone getting a fair shot at winning. PA will need to follow as well.

50 birds to a trap is a little strange but they will be getting part of it right. See you at the Creek!

Before the shot screens at the Cardinal I was always trying to get them to draw for banks, although I can't believe Gibson will allow this to happen at his old club maybe this EC has a couple of thinkers on it.

Michigan used to always draw for banks so maybe the VP from there has a little pull. It's only fair for the folks to be as good as the people so if it's his idea good for him.

 

Banks 2 and 3 at PA are perpetually taken. Let the rest of the peasants eat cake.

If you are there this weekend, ask the new president & delegate if they plan to ever draw for banks. If they do I might come back to the state shoot. After 47 straight state shoots I sat out this year.

 

I suggested they all shoot bank 5 for recognition. Never happen but would be a fantastic direction.

I know they all want the organization to get back in the BLACK. Now, let's draw for bank change. I always liked shooting at the SW Grand (San Antonio) because they did draw for bank change on every EVENT. Banks were not posted until one hour before the event started. The only way you could get your preferred bank was to shoot with a handicap shooter on the bank by the grandstands/classification building. I liked the way the shoot was run in Texas. Good management.

 

I always thought drawing for banks is the fairest way to go. When I started the grand drew for directions also.

 

According to the Grand's program, it looks like you pick your bank when you pre-squad.
Am I missing something?

 

The fairest way is to install a shot screen so every shooter has the same background no matter what bank they draw. I am a fan of drawing for banks at all large shoots.

Michigan used to give you a bank but drew for where it started, the traps to the east were the starting banks and if they drew the number 5 that bank was numbered 5 and then it went 4, 3, 2, 1, then 10,9, 8 ect. I shot Missouri when they drew but can't remember for sure but I think that is how they did it too.

Don snowflakes, young and old, have no clue what trap shooting was like. I remember when you walked the whole line at all the Pa state shoots. You even had to pass the practice traps . The line was in a horseshoe shape. You ended right in front of the bar. I always thought that was the best place to end after a nice hot walk.

That's how it was done for ever until the million dollar camper section was put in. Of course that's what happened at the grand before Pa. The ATA became a camping and ribbon shooting association then. Today it's homeless too, maybe Gibson will run into Merlo under the overpass soon.

 

Back in the day. I was shooting with Woody Brown & Frank Little and Woody pulled the squads for us. One year we shot the corner because no one would shoot there and Woody thought if Frank shot it everyone would want to shoot there. Woody also used the same logic and had us shoot bank 12 one year. Don't remember how it worked out for management & problem banks. I do know that this new way of someone shooting every target on a single bank (or 2) started after the old guard passed on. It started with the western PA shooters taking control of the executive committee.

 

Back in those days I was shooting with a guy that had two squads for every event (so did several other guys). We had to wait at the central entry building until they pulled the direction. Then we would sigh up.

 

In Elysburg, before Gene Anastiso put us on the bank system we skipped nine or ten traps for each sub-event.

 

Spend a little time working the CEB at any major shooting venue and you quickly realize why wild animals sometimes eat their young before they are old enough to reproduce. I couldn’t even guess at how many times I was asked “Where is trap one?” Like Jack Nicklaus said when he was asked how he found his way around the course so well “the holes are numbered”, and so are the traps. We used to flip ends between 100’s on the 200 bird singles event. Actually had a shooter complete three traps of his morning 100 then he went to the other end of the line to shoot his 4th trap. You just can’t make this s#!t up!

62286IL is a disgruntled dude from Illinois. Linn is unfair again.

 

The first time I went to a 200 target event they had 12 program traps. Not knowing any better I took eight boxes of shells to the starting trap.

 

User 62286IL probably only shoots at Sparta and needs to get over Missouri being the new permanent home of the ATA. If the ATA wants a better background they can put up shot screens.

I did a little google search and found this,

Females: 2,228 (51.3%)


Must have used smarter census takers than the ones they used in 2010. At least the numbers add up.

Also looks like 3.2% got smarter too. They left.
