If you don’t have a room now.... 3 to 1 odds says you are driving at least 90 minutes or paying scalpers prices for motels. Tooo late. The insiders already knew this was coming. 20 to 1 all the 2012 PULL and Gipson pals have motels and camping spots. Merlo was right. The fix was in long ago. Any girl at the office could have told him. But which one did?
Just looked at Hotels.com for Osage Beach and numerous motel rooms showed available for the week of the Grand with several under $100 per night. Also checked VRBO for Osage Beach condos during Grand week and found over 300 listed with many under $100 per night. If you drive more than 15 minutes to get to the MTA grounds it's only because you want to.
If you have never been to the Bagnell or Osage area, it is huge. Lots of motels around. TanTara Lodge is a very nice place with plenty to do. The list is long in the area, should be fine. If you want to go --- go! Only a 2 1/2 hour drive for me but I think I will skip it.
That is easy. While the area is big on vacationers this year is different. The flu scare plus the fact many folks had to use the vaca funds while they were out of work. Attendance at motels is down but there was a good amount of boats on Lake of Ozarks 2 weeks ago. My family was there then and nothing was anywhere near capacity. Stayed at TanTara Lodge. Been going there since I was a kid. I don't think there will be a problem with lodging, just shop around. If you have never been there, you have no idea. I have friends and family that live on the Lake front property.
You will find a room. Not nearby. It is vacationland! Been there. People are paid more not to work. They are paid to vacation now. Some make more not working. You better get a room quick. And good luck on the 3 decent banks. You will see. The prices are being jacked up. Good luck. No my problem.
I checked Expedia. There are some rooms here and there but there isn’t much camping space at Linn Creek. Rates are already jacked up. Call now! I think this will change in a few days. Too dang hot down there to sleep in my car.
The motel rates at Lake of the Ozarks always increase at least 20% about a week before Memorial Day through a week after Labor Day. I doubt if this had much impact on overall prices but they may be filling up around the Osage Beach area. There are many condo's for rent and can be a lot cheaper than motel rooms if there are several people splitting the cost.
