This morning I had to go get some tests done at a hospital, right across the street from the Pavilion nursing home where so many Ohioans died. There was plenty of safeguards in place. The first was an armed security person packing a 40 cal taking temperatures of everyone. And if they did not have a mask, there was a box for you to take one. Point being; while I was laying in that extremely loud MRI thing for two hours...I was wondering what safeguards are going to be in place for our State Shoot? Especially the Classification bldg. Another area is where scores are posted. Due to my present condition, I'll probably sit this one out. Best of Luck guys.
The rumor I got is that the CC Staff has been working with the Morrow County Health Department to put together a "safe" plan for everyone. I am sure the entry building will have have some recommended safe changes. For example, the cashiering line. There is no reason why that cannot be one line with social distancing clear out in the parking lot. They probably will have six cashiers like normal. As one person pays, the next person in line moves up. The line will probably move faster than the piled up mess like in the past. The big thing is be safe, have fun, no bitching and enjoy the fact we are going to have a chance to shoot.
It certainly is a piled up mess for some of the time. You have three crowded desks there. Squadding and classification are the huge bottlenecks; might have two lines out the north side and cashier line out the south. Will be interesting to see.
If by chance there is a second wave of the Corona Virus just imagine what the "new Normal " is going to end up being ..? The majority of restrictions are being waved or lifted to some degree for now and so far there has not been an increase in Virus cases ... The Flu kills XXX number of people annually, so far the numbers who have died from the Corona Virus have not exceeded those and God only know how many have died from complications of the Virus ... This is really hard to call being as it is supposed to have its greatest effects on the elderly and there are a lot of elderly trap shooters these days ... Follow your gut and stay safe but do not quit living you life ... I figure I have to die from something, we all do ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
According to the state health department all employees and vendors are required to wear masks and practice social distancing. I thinks this would be a good opportunity to show others that events like this can be held while maintaining good and safe health practices. The last thing we need is another outbreak or flair up of this crap and we all end up in another lock down that will be worse that the one we are trying to work out of now.
Hope none of the large shoots end up looking like the picture on the ATA's webb site page ''Shooter Information Center''. Looks like a Sardine Can. Big Trouble in Paradise if so. Maybe by June the Summer heat will help clean things up.
