Jack turned 'em down at least once. Jack is a heckuva smarter that that dope Gipson. Some say the water in IL can affect a persons logic.Others say Gipson has scuffed knees right now. Based on the number of entries not many shooters care if it's held in Sparta.
You HOPE? Or you're sure? If they do have to cancel it there (I hope they don't) it will just be ANOTHER year do didn't go right? C'mon, you know you only went the first year and that was because it was so close. After that you didn't bother to shoot even one event. BTW, that staying there for next decade thing? Ever hear of the SCTP? How's that working out for that place?
Yeah, nothing to worry about here. Not a doubt in the world the "grand" will be in that place. The politicians won't stand for any more of this pritzker BS. They will stand up and stand together and tell him like it is. Well, one of them anyway. 5/20/20 "Illinois House removed GOP rep from legislative session after he refused to wear a mask: 'A callous disregard for life' " "The Illinois state House reportedly voted to remove a Republican lawmaker from a legislative session Wednesday after he refused to comply with a requirement for lawmakers to wear a mask during the special session." "The state House voted 81-27 to remove Rep. Darren Bailey after he refused to put a face mask on following the chamber voting to adopt the rule, NBC Chicago reported." "I can not sit in there and be part of just a puppet game," Bailey told reporters after he was removed from the session. Gov. JB Pritzker (D) rebuked Bailey for not wearing a mask." "The representative has shown a callous disregard for life, callous disregard for people's health," Pritzker reportedly said. "You just [ask] a doctor [to] tell you why people wear masks in the first place. It's to protect others. So clearly, the representative has no interest in protecting others." "The vote was bipartisan, with several House Republicans voting in favor of removing their colleague." "We cannot ignore nor compromise the health and safety of every member in the General Assembly, their family members, and every one of our staffers who work tirelessly for us," House Republican Leader Jim Durkin said, according to NBC Chicago." "Bailey told reporters outside the session he had also refused to take a coronavirus test, according to NBC Chicago. The outlet noted tests were not required, but lawmakers were reportedly asked to take a test." "Other Republican state lawmakers reportedly threatened not to wear masks, but later conceded that they would if the rule were adopted." Those people know how to stick together. I still think they will have the "grand" at that outpost. Money in ILLnews talks. All the ata has to do is cough up enough money, say maybe give the state enough to cover all the wages for the state employees that have been taking care of the joint? Or pay for ANYTHING the state tells them they want and bingo, the "grand" goes on.
Pull and Mark, I am unable to reply to your PM. Says I must post in the thread and can not reply to your PM????? Confusing!
The grand in the State of Illinois is nothing short of a whored out version of what the grand once was and will never be again ... The name in and of it self did not make the Grand the Grand, the attendance did and it has not been duplicated (or even close) since it left Ohio ... The clubs that have the facilities to host the grand in actuality do not need the grand to survive and seem to be doing quite well without having to work magic and make the Grand, Grand once again ... The numbers drop off annually because of the location in Illinois and would no doubt improve dramatically if and when the shoot gets moved to any other facility ... WPT ... (YAC) ... The Corona Virus will be another excuse for the attendance taking a hit, any excuse is better than none at all ... Trump 2020 ...
Illinois Govenor sends the Grand American Trap Shoot to Linn Creek MISSOURI.. Is it because they have better lodging and food.Or could it be better entertainment for the familys. He didnt shut down thousands of rioters in Chicago ..He might just have a agenda to fulfill..
QOUTE: Hey Statman. The GRAND will be in SPARTA for the next decade. Gipson is rubbing Jacks nose in it. NOW: Sid, Better look in a mirror. Your nose is in it now ! Fantastic direction is now in a downward spiral ~~~
They should quit calling it the GRAND. The luster is gone and keeping the name is offensive to what it once was. Our illustrias leader for the last 20-25 years have trampled the name in the dust through their lack of leadership Some day when the history is written on the sport, their names will be mentioned as the group that castrated the great sport of trap shooting. Roger C.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained but when it continues on and on, year after year one has to give some serious thought to the fact there was little or no thought involved in the first place ... If a business does not make money or at least break even after a few years any logical thinking person would have to assume it was not a good idea, time to cut your losses and move on, not keep doing the same thing over and over and think the out come is going to change ... The ATA in and of itself has showed there it a total lack of business and leadership ability's for the past at least 20 years, in spite of that they have made money at the State of Illinois's expense ... (all good things must come to an end ) ... Where it goes from here is anybody's guess but without major changes and a workable business plan the ATA is in trouble ... The Members deserve better than what they have been getting for the past 20 plus years that is for sure ... WPT ... (YAC) ... Renters never have the same option's owners do ... Trump 2020 ... do not forget your mask ...
Sparta Sid, The email I received from the ATA, said the GRAND will be held at Linn creek. ARE THEY WRONG, or havent you told them yet it is to be held in sparta? Roger C.
The more I think about the History of all this talk about the Grand not lasting in Sparta, the more I believe that Paul Shaw's Crystal Ball was a bit ahead of time. His Crystal Ball apparently saw things way before the rest of the EC, and he was trying to be Pro-Active but the others wouldn't listen to him. The EC, except for Mr. Shaw, were all in denial, "Oh NO, this could never happen Paul". This all goes back to the old saying: "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink" Well, Mr. Shaw took those horses to water, but they wanted to just remain thirsty I guess.
Sparta Sid is not responding anymore, could he be out hunting some crow to eat? Or maybe he is looking for a motel room in Linn Creek, so he can attend the GRAND, Roger C.
