I 'd heard that Britt has cancer so I called him today. We spent about an hour on the phone. Britt sounded great, same old Britt. He has colon cancer and was operated on sometime within the last couple of weeks. He has a Dr. appointment on the 14th to get the details but he thinks everything is going to be ok. We shared stories and laughs about the old days. Leo and Phil stories among them and just basically talked about how much fun we'd had shooting trap and all the characters we'd known. We had a good old fashion BS session. Britt doesn't have a computer so if you want to wish him well you'll have to send him a card or call him. I won't give his phone number, you'll have to find it for yourselves. I'm sure a prayer wouldn't hurt either. Brad
I had the privilege of shooting on a squad with Britt for the whole week of the Indiana State Shoot in 1991. What a true gentleman he was to a young shooter that was struggling in Handicap. The words of encouragement that he gave me will never be forgotten. I too enjoyed listening to his many stories and paid particularly good attention to any advice he gave. Prayers lifted up for Britt.
I watched him, hall, gravestock and Bonilla at the Grand in the mid 70's. Man he could just smoke those hdcp. Tgts. he shot so fast.
Not Brad but talked to Britt Sunday. He has 20 more treatments to go. When he's doing a session he said it knocks him for a loop. But in between he rebounds well. Positive attitude as Britt seems to always have. He was heading out again to shoot 1200yd rifle. Claims he enjoys the dickens out of shooting at that distance.
