Use some STP oil treatment. Keep the oil off the wood but use lots of it. Open and close......x5000. When she uses it put some on too.

STP was what AL said to use on Ljutics.

I always use Marvel Mystery oil, I don't know how it works ( must be the Mystery) but it does ... I have one can that I have used for years and it still works as if I bought it yesterday ... I also use Clenzoil on all of my guns, the wood, and leather products to keep them looking like new ... I tried Bowling ball cleaner it didn't work very good ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I have two stroke "break-in" oil that's dirty oil. It allows for final machining and work hardening of the piston ring seal.
What you want is to use something like this so it actually helps open up things just half a thou or so.
It's either that or an experienced smith with a set of small files

I use CMD Grease, it's what KOLAR uses on their New guns, use a vey lite coat on all Contact surfaces, it's really easy after application. I have had this tube over 15 years now, It's on my CZ too, was on my Ljutic. And it is a 2oz tube.

seems that there is a awful lot of opinion and very little first hand experience with the CZ. I think the original question would be better answered by actual experience rather the conjecture and hearsay.

I told him to contact a guy that has one, (conjecture and hearsay) so he can get his answers from an actual person who has one being as I do not and never will based on all of the "good" things I have heard about them ... Other peoples experience count also as far as I am concerned which eliminates the conjecture and hearsay ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

The SCTP Kids are shooting a Lot of CZ Guns, their popularity is gaining just like the Blaser, Caesar Guerini, took off, you have to NOTICE what they are shooting, I saw them for the first time in the Ohio State Shoot Program last year, But mine is the CZ Super Trap Combo, I like it and the way it performs, I can't say it better than to TRY ONE.

The Turkish firearms industry is evolving; gone are the days where one could quickly dismiss any product coming from Turkey as being sub par. Not saying that one shouldn't do research before making a purchase, but outright dismissal of a Turkish gun is merely showing contemporary ignorance of whats being produced today. I have not sampled the new (last couple of years) CZ product, however, at the price points they are going to market with and the volume being achieved it is probably fair to say they have staked out the "Value" segment of traps little niche to sell to. I have purchased 2 Turkish shot guns in the past couple of years and for the price they were incredible buys. The first purchase was a DeHaan SxS 20, 28" barrels with choke tubes, decent furniture, nice in the hands and triggers in the 5 lb. range. This shotgun was made by Huglu (who was making CZ shotguns at that time) and imported to the U.S. by DeHaan (produced to his specs) who then cleaned up any quality issues before shipping to his customers (direct sales - no middle man distribution), a real value play. Unfortunately, his financial model didn't work and he shut it down. The 2nd purchase was a Charles Daly SxS 12, another very competent shotgun for the money. I'm attaching a recent video of Randy Wakeman's (gun writer) tour of a contemporary Turkish shotgun manufacturing plant. I'm not versed in manufacturing operations but I found it informative. These same views were prevalent on Japanese product 30-40 yrs ago. How many of you own 101's, Brownings, Weatherby's, etc from Japan? Look at how many firearm companies are now sourcing their product from Turkey. Looking forward to reading what current CZ owners report.

    Jammer,
Your point is well taken, many people over the years have gotten established (comfortable) with guns and gun company's so they do not feel the need to try and check out guns that have had less than a stellar reputation prior to now established over many years ... You saying that people who dismiss Turkish guns are showing contemporary ignorance of whats being produced today is some what of a slam to people's established tastes, desires, and ability to buy and pay for what they feel is a Superior product, if it is or is not ... I have no room in any of my gun safes for the fire arms you mentioned and gave your opinion of and even less desire to own one or more of them and I can well afford to if so inclined ... If you like them buy them and enjoy, those of us who have other opinions are just as valid as yours based on what we know and have probably researched ... Not many people have the desire to go try or test every gun that comes out being as we are well satisfied with the choices we have made over the years prior to those working the bugs out ... Enjoy , make mine a Perazzi,Winchester, Remington because I want to and because I can ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Thank you in advance for the Video, not interested in seeing it any more than I am in their guns ...

    wpt,

Not sure you got the gist of what I was trying to convey....probably the way I wrote it.

Perhaps it was the word ignorance (a lack of knowledge or information) that led you to respond "some what of a slam to people's established tastes, desires, and ability to buy and pay for what they feel is a Superior product, if it is or is not"....that was not my intent. My intent was to convey that opinions are not always valid over a given time frame. I should have used "not informed", that's easier to swallow. The bottom line is Things Change.

Likewise, I was not suggesting that Turkish firearms are superior to the established brands, hence my statement of "Value"

You are most welcome for the video; might I say, you may just might want to watch it to reduce your ignorance level on contemporary Turkish production methods. :D

Not interested in watching anything that would not suit my taste based on an opinion of one who is ignorant about guns and my taste ... I do not watch video's because I have never seen any one who manufactures a product say "our product is shit (junk) but we need the money" ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I've shot traditional black powder guns for many years. In the past a revolver made by Pietta would never have been one of choice for me due to many fit, finish and reliability issues. Now, years later, I've recently purchased three replica civil war era revolvers made by them and will say they are without doubt some of the best finished replicas I've ever owned. Coincidentally someone toured the Pietta plant in Italy and posted a video similar to the one posted in this thread. A change to CNC machining and a strong commitment to QC have completely changed this company, their products and their reputation. We, in the US, are not the only firearms purchasers in the world and it certainly remains to be seen how well manufacturers in other countries will do. Not looking at something, not evaluating something, just lets you remain belligerent and ignorant.

If one has no interest why bother evaluating, looking at, searching for answers you are not interesting in getting any way ... If that make a person belligerent so be it, but only ignorant people harp on another's lack of desire for what ever reason ... I do not bother researching, evaluating, or watching videos of anything ( something) I personally would not want to own if it was given to me and that I consider to be junk or in this case over priced Junk at any price ... You obviously shot to much Black Powder if you think your response changes anything on my part, it does not ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I consider the source after careful evaluation of same I am still not interested ... If I am going to waste my time it will be on something I am interested in ... Incidentally, I do not shoot or care about black powder either ...

PS: I TYPED THIS VERY SLOW SO COLUMBUS AND JAMMER CAN READ AND UNDERSTAND IT, THAT IS THE BEST I CAN DO FOR THEM ...

CNC machines can be a great equalizer provided the machine is top notch. There are a bunch of crap CNC machines out there. The type of machining and quality of metal in the equipment will reflect the work the machine does. The metal in the gun is important also. And don’t forget the tooling which is as important as any.

It is easy to machine aluminum, wood, and plastics. Roger Coveleskie will tell you hard steel is a different game.

After reading this thread I looked up the CZ All American Combo and watched the video. Frankly, I think they have some good ideas on easy to install replaceable parts. Never a word as it where it's made thought. I've never seen one of these guns but I did buy a 28ga O/U from CZ a few years ago and the thing doubled about every other round. I returned it and got my money back. It was however a good looking full size gun. Maybe, they've improved their QC?

So after all the mud and muck here is my input I have put about 4500 shots on my All American and there was some fine tuning involved. Almost all these rounds are shot through the un-single.
#1 I was having some misfires caused by light hits to primers I contacted CZ in Kansas City and they sent me a new firing train it arrived in 2 days.
#2 I had a set screw work loose in adjustable rib the fix for this was blue Loctite.
I am 66 years old and have bought guns because of peer pressure and could not hit targets with them. Lets be honest the average shooter will not require a Krieghoff, Ludic, or a Perazzi trap gun to break targets (I have owned all 3) but to tell the truth I have broke more targets with BT-99 and my 1948 model 12 than all 3 combined. With that said I like my CZ and I am in my 2nd season with it and it will be my last trap gun. (At least that is what I tell my wife)

I watch ALL KINDS of videos. Even if it is about something I have no intention of ever buying. Nice to see what's out there. That way, when someone makes a statement I can answer them intelligently and I've owned or do own Perazzis, Belgium Brownings, Ljutics, some really high grade Colt revolvers and Autos and a bunch of stuff that some people though cost way too much money.

I looked at, sat through a presentation by a distributor in Las Vegas about the CZ Trap guns/ combo's, I was not impressed but will say they looked pretty ... The display guns were loose (not even shot yet) when closed but the fit of the wood was very nice, the trigger felt like it was being dragged over sand paper and had enough slop in it to eventually be the cause of major problems ... The Distributor referred to the guns they had on display as entry level at best, (their Top of the line guns) their words not mine ... They had a video, I went to the slots after about 3 minutes of that played and came back into the room to see what the end result was, not one person purchased a new combo and the prices were what could or would of been give away prices (under $2,000 / for a combo) ... I saw enough, learned enough, and heard enough that convinced me it was not the gun for me or any of my loved ones ... I was a gun dealer at one time and would not of stocked any guns that I would not shoot, the CZ's I have seen with my own eyes left a lot to be desired for my personal taste, but they were pretty ... I did see one after it blew up probably from operator error but either way there was not enough left of it to bury ... I have shot many guns (types/ makes) over the years, I call that stupidity on my part being as I should of stayed with the Model 12 I was shooting and making money with ... I do not recall ever shooting or liking any CZ that I ever saw enough that I felt a need to shoot it, let alone own it ... That about covers it, you may like it, you may not but that is the way it is, get over it ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

P.S : When I was shooting I would shoot 35,000 plus rounds(shots) per year so the gun I shot had to take it and hold up ... That was playing, practice, pieces, annies, protections, and anything else when they had targets in the air ...

How did you do on the slots? We just came home from a weekend at the casino/hotel. Did OK, nothing real big this trip but didn't lose.

    The reason I mention this?

I had a guy that I used to work with that said anyone going to the casinos had to be a booger eating moron. He thought that spending money gambling was just about the dumbest thing he ever heard of. He couldn't understand why anyone in their right mind would even step in one let alone spend a nickel there.

I told him I wasn't spending HIS money and I could do whatever I damn well pleased with mine and actually HE was a
jerk off for saying that to me.

I did very well , thank you for asking ... Your point is well taken and I understand completely but as I said I do not sit and watch videos about something, anything I am not interested in ... If someone wants to spend their money on anything I could honest to God care less but to insinuate a person is ignorant or belligerent because they do not feel the same way about something as you do it would be totally ignorant in my book .. I can careless if some one spends their money on things that make them happy, but they should keep in mind that there are other opinions just as valid without being called ignorant and or belligerent ...

    WPT,

Let's get something out of the way: the meaning of ignorance.

    Ignorance
    Description
Ignorance is a lack of knowledge and information. The word "ignorant" is an adjective that describes a person in the state of being unaware, and can describe individuals who deliberately ignore or disregard important information or facts, or individuals who are unaware of important information or facts.

So, my use of the word "ignorance" was used in the proper way. Apparently, you find the term offensive. I understand, ignorant (ance) has been misused as describing someone in a derogatory fashion, that was not my intent. Replace ignorance with (unaware, unfamiliar, inexperienced, etc.), would you have responded similarly?

I never gave an opinion on the CZ trap gun, I mentioned Turkish firearms in general. Nor did I suggest you buy and try. WTF? When I read your statements they are not relevant to what I was proffering, you completely misinterpreted what I was conveying. If you were not interested perhaps you should have stayed on the porch....what did you contribute to the ops initial inquiry?

I have enjoyed reading your posts over many years, in fact we have conversed several times over the years at Shotgun World.

    Wishing you the best!

    PS.
"wpt, "]The bottom line is Things Change." (finish sentence ) who cares what changed if you are not interested, so that does not matter ..?[

Ignorance: and can describe individuals who deliberately ignore or disregard important information or facts.

    Hmmm.
