can I dry fire my TM1 release trigger, out of the gun without hurting anything?

No. Ease the hammer down with your thumb.

that's what I've been doing, caught my finger skin under the hammer and it hurt like hell.
made me think how does a gunsmith test your release speed and trigger function?

I have three P guns and what I'll do is,I put a small (4x4 piece) of sheet rubber on the edge of my work bench, hold the trigger ass. ay a 90 degree angle to the edge, and snap the trigger. Iam hitting the rubber and doing no harm, and no pinched fingers.

After I am finished shooting for the day I remove the trigger group from the receiver and let the release off while holding the hammer to let it fall easily. I have never caught of pinched my fingers. Takes just a few seconds and lets the pressure off of the hammer spring.

It also allows me to spray a little dry lube on it and it is ready to go next time.
