Parallel trap line...for real? At the Cardinal Center report delayed?

My pals in the trenches scrutinize and report with integrity. Yet we delayed posting some news until it could be reverified.

I cannot discredit the report that a few people suggested parallel traplines at the Cardinal Center.

Bizarre? I have delayed reporting this and it was put in writing. I can’t discredit the sources.

How do you kill a cardinal? Make them look south to see a target.

 

Maybe this is why Cardinal was looking for land to relocate the sporting clays course?

IMO Cardinal is quite adequate at this time.
If the ATA finds themselves in a bind let them figure it out.

The Cardinal Center could handle the amount of shooters that currently attend the grand in Illinois, the problem might arise when the attendance goes to 150 % or more than they get now ... I have a feeling Cardinal Center would find a solution to that if and when the time comes ... The ATA might lose all of their followers that reside in Illinois but that difference would be made up from other states in a damn quick hurry, probably even see an increase in the membership ... Cardinal Center does not need the ATA but the ATA will need someone to bail them out if anything happens to the facility in Illinois ... The Political climate is always heated in Illinois and they have been known to do things on a whim many times over the years ... Someone said the State of Illinois included the WSRC and State parks in the new budget, (maintenance) I have not been able to find it yet if it is but will keep on searching ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

Keep dreaming people. The Grand has it home already it's not going anywhere mostly to a place with an artificial background. Mr. Fishburn is just looking for ways to recover his investment at CC. Push him too much and he might just close up shop and OH will have to move to their home ground. OH, I forgot OH does not have one.

 

If i read this right. You guys are saying that the trap lines would face each other with the shot screen in the middle?
Not good! Think what would happen during a strong north or south wind? The turbulence created by the screen on the other side from the wind direction would have a swirling effect as the wind is uplifted up and over the top.
This would create a different playing field...and you think banks 6 and 7 were hard to fill.

Sounds like you are starting to see why that outpost and EVENT 24 can't draw half what it used to. Hell, they couldn't draw even 2 more shooters over last years number.

I'm not on the CFOWTFH, The Committee to Find Out What The F$$$ Happened, but from all the names on there, the Ex mayor?, they apparently want all the help they can get. Here is the first suggestion. All THEY have to do is get volunteers but I'm sure I could give them a few names of "members: that would be more than willing to help out.

They could ask for a "donation" of say, $1.00 a toss? That bank account would really climb. With how much the kids like these things Gipson should have offered this incentive instead of free targets. That might have gotten them to come back and not sign a TEN YEAR deal with the Cardinal Center.

When someone knows they can't compete they are beat before they start. You already said you aren't that good so it wouldn't be much of a challenge for me. The CC could use the increased attendance but you don't need the humiliation of losing. Well, I guess losing to me. Apparently you are used to losing to all the other shooters.

I don't shoot any "registered" targets at any venue. You can feed the ata and fool yourself into thinking this is a great time to pay your dues and fees and everything is just fine. Unfortunately for you and your cohorts the people running the circus don't agree with you.

If they did there wouldn't be a "committee" to try and find out what's wrong with that place in ILLnews. Maybe you should take some of your own advice and quit worrying about the Cardinal Center and try to help that place draw more than the pathetic numbers it has FOR THE LAST 14 YEARS. For God's sake man, doesn't that bother you just a little? Are you so self centered that as long as YOU get to shoot close to home at what you THINK is a big deal event you don't care about your organization?

At least before the ata left me I tried to help. I probably shot more registered targets in one month than guys like you shoot in a year. Unless you shoot 4,900 sixteens 3,500 caps and 2,400 doubles that is. When you "help" the ata like that, let me know. That of course was when a shooter could win money and it was worth traveling to three or four state shoots and shooting every target they threw at the Grand in Vandalia for the week.

C'mon mike j. how many you have this year? 1000-1500 total? Don't even shoot doubles do you? Yeah, I know your type. Go to the big dance with just enough targets to stay in class B or C. Shoot lousy scores from short yardage and then wonder why you can't get any better and win a trinket. Send me your address, I'll pick out a nice trophy from the box full and send it to you. You can tell people you won it. Better yet, just tell me what gun club you want it sent to and that way you don't have to tell me your real name.

That is the main problem with guys like you. You talk and act like you care what happens but you really don't. Step up mike j. make a difference. Maybe someday EVENT 24 will have 3/4 the number of shooters it had during the Golden Age of Trap shooting. THAT will never happen but you can dream can't you.

You could start by volunteering for that dunk tank. That would at least make a public statement showing your dedication to the sport.

You can't have my 27 yard line pin (3 hole target 27 yard line pin), my 25 Straight Flyers pin OR my Grand Silverware.

I spent over $15K per year shooting trap. It's a drop in the bucket for me. You seems to be a washed-up wheelchair quarterback. Go suck salt like the ATA will tell Fishburn to do.

Thanks for posting that. That is exactly the problem. The ata is always looking for the easy way. It usually involves "donations" or an "extra fee" or somebody gets greased but it sure has been the SOP.

When I first started hearing about this shooting south deal I figured that this was just another pot stirring rumor. If this was to happen it wouldn't just be a bad dream it would be a nightmare of the worst kind! Shooting south and shooting north would be like shooting in two different worlds. If it was a problem to fill banks 5 6 7 just wait until you try to fill the south shooting banks. Besides not having the assured clear distance to be considered safe. If you want to shoot from morning to evening north is the only direction to even consider. It appears that the trap line could be extended straight west or almost straight west. As ebsurvayer said it might kill the cardinal. I don't know if it would kill the cardinal or not, but it would make that poor little cardinal look like a plucked turkey. Just my humble opinion.

Dave, I think that was suggested by the EC. They must do something to humiliate the CC. That idea is right out of LA LA Land. Roger C.
