Be careful when buying muller chokes. Bought a set of 5 for myK20, only one fit. had trouble with the office on what to do with them. Finally contacted someone their response was, Jim usually sends lapping compound with the chokes. Made a comment as to where they could put their lapping co pound! They did send me a return label at no charge. They were very hard to deal with. Would NOT use their chokes. Bought a set of Extreme chokes they all screwed in without having to use lapping compound!!!
Sorry you had trouble with aftermarket choke tubes for your Krieghoff. I do possess some curiosity as to what lack of confidence you had in OEM choke tubes. Would you care to comment?
It has always puzzled me as to why some people think that gun manufacturers would provide an inferior product - choke tube - when sales of their guns depends on perceived performance. And why would some aftermarket producer know some dark secret to performance that the gun maker does not? Seriously, some guy in a garage for a few months with some revelation in choke configuration that is superior to say Perazzi who has been making and evolving choke tubes for near 50years?
As one who has decades of machining experience, I'm trying to figure out how you were supposed to use the lapping compound if the choke tubes won't screw into the barrels. Did they want you to rub it on the tubes with your fingers until the tubes fit???? Or, maybe, slather the compound on the tube that DOES fit, run it in and out of the barrel several hundred times... until both the tube AND the barrel have been worn to the point that the other tubes will fit (and neither the one tube that DID fit or any other choke tube, no longer does)???? That was a terrible response from Muller.
Pretty much on par with what I've heard about their products in general. And just to be perfectly clear -- NO - I have never tried their products. Perazzi and Beretta have both seen fit to provide me with suitable equipment.
@mudpack Your post got me thinking. I have not been impressed by reports of which combine to show this outfits customer satisfaction ratio. However, I would think the OP might have returned unless visited by some muscle.
I have a Browning xs sporting in 28ga. It came to me used with two (2) Muller #1 c/t's and I measured the constriction and were both the same, however on the patterning board they are quite different!? This is the only experience I have had with this company and it is enough for me.......
I have used them and not had any trouble. In my 1100 sporting they fit great and shot great. You need to take to Jimmy he is a very nice guy.
This past weekend had a friend Muller choke tube split . He shoots a Kolar. Said he will get new tube but will be looking for replacement and selling the Mullers. He has fear Muller choke will split again.
