Any BT99, BT100 experience with barrel replacement

I purchased a BT99 34" stainless steel barrel new from Midwest Gun Works. Ist question, is it compatable with BT100's? Second question, has anyone ever replaced a barrel, or does it absolutely have to go to a gunsmith .. I've purchased several BT's it's been close to dropping on 1 ... I've heard it is rare to get one to fit without a gunsmith massaging it.... Thanks, any input appreciated

 

Last year I had a BT 100 stainless barrel fail. Sent it to midwest for a replacement barrel. came back perfect. cost close to 1,000.00 for the barrel and fitting.

 

Michael, do you know or does anyone know if the SS barrel is the same for the 99 and 100... I would think so .. but ..

 

I have both a bt99 and bt100, the barrels don't interchange.

 

No they will not interchange.

 

Thanks Phil... so, I have to find me a 99 with a bad barrel or a 99 receiver. Anyone out there have anything ....
