This Sunday ( March 1st ) is Mt. Blanchard, Ohio's first Sunday of the month shoot. It's a fifty bird program ( 25 - 16 yd. targets and 25 handicaps no closer than the 23 yd line.) Twenty dollars cover everything , Lewis Class, long run front, reverse long run, drawpot , and jackpot. There are usually between seven to twelve squads. The shoot moves along quickly. There will be a five bird slab shoot following the program. It's about a 44 yard shot behind two post. Break all five and win the jackpot, new shooters are eligible for half the jackpot. If there are no fives high score wins two dollars per shooter. It cost five dollars to enter. Come on out for a good time and do not forget your A game , this shoot usually attracts some of Northwest Ohio's best.

They are calling for a little snow, but they shot last month in a big snow. Willie A had to push a little, but a few did brave the elements. It is going to be in the 30's so not too cold.

Doug how does the handicap work? 23 being the minimum what is the max and how is it decided? Do some folks have to be resquaded? What are the directions to the club from US30? Don't know for sure, but Dirk and I may come up if the weather is not too bad and it isn't too cold.

Dave, we would love to see you and Dirk at Mt Blanchard. Here is how it works. You squad up and shoot 25 from the 16. The same squad moves to the other trap and shoots 25 from hcp yardage. If you break all 25 on the 16, you will shoot from the 25 yard line. If you break 24 of the 25 on the 16, you will shoot from the 24 yard line. All other scores on the 16's will shoot from the 23 yard line. The club is about 2 miles North of US 30. The address is 21670 Township Highway 186 Forest, Ohio 45867. Doug Allison

If you click the link, google earth will show the club just to the North of the dot. Two traps, one on blacktop and the other on concrete.

There goes the neighborhood, if Willie isn't enough to compete with now we have Dave and Dirk! Just kidding guys it would be great to see both of you. You would be a fine addition to the other top notch shooters that shoot there . Hope to see JC shooter and Chisle there too. Practice trap opens at noon and the program begins at 1:00pm. Hope to see everyone there! Glenn Allison

You can only play the money on your first round, but you can shoot as many rounds as you like. Several of the top ATA shooters shoot a second round to make a 100 bird shoot for them. Only the first round counts on the options . Hope this is a help. Glenn Allison

Sorry just too much snow on the roads. Maybe next month. Not too bad of a day to shoot, but too much snow for the 1hr plus drive.

Thanks for considering us Dave. I shot The Carey club this morning( league ), tough very tough. The targets looked like dimes. I had to lock in the four wheel drive to get down their road off of St. Rt. 103. Thanks again!! I'll try to keep Willie away from the adult beverage refrigerater. Glenn Allison

We only had 17 entries as the roads were bad. Snow was heavy at times making it hard to see the targets. It was still fun. Ron C was high with 48 out of 50. Jeff C won the slab shoot with 4 out of 5. Both were very impressive scores in the conditions.
Here are some pics from today at the club.

JC and Chisle were unbelievable from that 45 yd. line. great shooting guys. Dbl. Auto only got edged out by a target (47) in the program. I hate that when he beats me!!!! Everyone got money except me. lol Glenn Allison
