Did you know the speed on 20 Ga. 2 3/4 Dram 1 ounce shells is 1220 Fps ? Information is for the American Trapshooter Championship shoot. GB................................................DLS
Have not seen any of them yet. We have been talking 2 32/4 Dram shells all year. GB........................................DLS
I was bored so I surfed around a little. Fiocchi shows a 20 Ga. 1 oz. 1,220 FPS shell It is 2-3/4 INCHES, it doesn't show any DRAM measurement. At least not on the Sportsmens Guide site I looked at. This is the description for that shell Gauge: 20 Shell Length (inches): 2 3/4 Shot Weight (ozs.): 1 Muzzle Velocity (F.P.S.): 1,220 Shot Size: 5, 6, 7.5, 8, 9 I was bored, but not bored enough to look anywhere else.
want your eyes opened? run a factory AA .410 over the chronograph. Not know what they are now but 30 years ago were about 1350 if i remember right. Brought some Orbea(?) shells home from Argentina in 1984 and they were about 1450 if i remember right. Real butt kickers but sure would turn ducks inside out.
I read this again because it moved back to the top and something I missed the first time around jumped out at me. "Information is for the American Trapshooter Championship shoot." Just asking What would 20 Ga. shells have to do with that shoot? Does someone plan on using a 20 instead of their everyday 12 Ga.? I know, 1 ounce is 1 ounce, but after shooting almost all your targets with your trusty 12 ga. smoke pole wouldn't it be kind of counter productive to pick up a 20ga. for a money shoot? I guess if you had a 20ga. tube that fit your Trap gun you could go that route but man that would be ballsy.
