Now there is a statistic. How many times have we heard Illinois shooters blame the failures for the shoots in Illinois on PA and OH not traveling to Illinois? Why? Toooooo far to travel.
The ATA knew full well even though they were going to lose a bunch of shooters from out east, they were not concerned knowing they would make up the difference with the shooters from Illinois and especially from Sparta, all 3 of them ... Trade offs do not always work out to your best interest but who's counting ..? Sparta is a nice little town but will never be the place to hold what was once the Biggest Trapshooting Event of the year ... It has been proven time and time and time again but nobody's watching ...Move it any place and see the difference, but that would make them look like a bunch of Clowns (no Offense to the Clown out there ) ... The only "Fantastic Direction" would be the hell out of Sparta where they might generate 20/30 million into the economy ... They never have, but if you dream big you never know, you know ..? WPT ... (YAC) ...
Maybe because the Illinois state shoot is this werk also? Maybe they'd rather shoot their home state shoot than go to Pennsylvania? Seems logical to me.
That does fly when the OH and PA guys stay home at their own shoots. There were 3. That is about the number PA sends.
Why would anyone go to PA or OH the way you all run every other state down? Most on here are such jerks that no one wants to go where you are!
I think T is still a little sensitive someone reported his 79 average from the 20. Or it was the 84 average from the 16. You guys are a bunch of jerks. But cripes that is funny!!!!!
Ya gotta love it. T shots very first post on this site is neutral. Along the lines of, Hi guys, this is my first post and the shoot you are speaking of was run very well. Sounds innocent enough. His third post he calls Ohio shooters whiners. Didn't take long to show his true colors did it? NOW we get to the REAL reason he came on here with us jerks. He sounds like the same guy that boasts to all his ass slapping buddies that he would NEVER shoot a target in the great trapshooting state of Ohio because they "bash" the almighty ata. Now THAT guy is a jerk. As for T shot, even after becoming a mega poster on here is NOT a jerk, YET. Guess you could say he is just one jerk off.
I see not one shooter from Turkey, the Virgin Islands, or Africa just to name a few and there are many others, didn't show up either ... They had almost as many as showed up the the last (biggest) grand ... (lol) ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
I do not think Illinois sent anyone, they went to see a real good shoot and compete w/real gentlemen. GB...............................DLS
I don't think Flyer has ever moderated anyone. Probably more moderated than moderator. That's what makes the site what it is or isn't.
Why don't you enlighten us with YOUR view of what this site is, and isn't. And remember, I was answering a poster that said MOST posters on here were JERKS
Harv (Shotshell) , Things must be getting a little cramped/slow over where you came from for you to venture out ... The guy with the green truck still giving lessons for handicap shooters from the 20 yard line ..? You will no doubt find out a lot on this site, some not so pleasant but accurate ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
Hello all, First post here on American Trapshooter. I hope everyone had a great Independence Day, our President is not only a Republican but a superstar in thw GOP! Any how I feel looking from the outside in the PA STATE SHOOT was ran fairly smoothly, they had thrown a decent target for the weather they had to deal with. Wind was a major circumstance the target setting committee had to deal with every day. Sunday and Wednesday being the worst, 20+ mph wind from the N NW. No problem getting a trap reset, as my squad asked for a few. Speakers were swapped out with new equipment without question also. The shoot was down regardless of who participated in each event, the weather was not in the shooters' favor; hot humid and windy. I'd like to see how Elysburg will fair for Attendance numbers for the PA Grand and Pre-Grand shoot this year. Also heard the Buckeye Open and Ohio State Shoot were way down from years past because of weather issues. On to the whole Illinois participation deal. With the Illinois State Shoot competition occuring at the same time it was not likely that residents of Illinois would also compete in events 10+ hrs away prior to the Illinois State Shoot. I would like to see how many Ohio shooters competed in the Illinois State Shoot. Also how many Illinois shooters participated in the Ohio State Shoot other than the 2 I shot with, both of which drove to Ohio 6.5hrs to shoot the championship events. Thanks, Dillip Smith.
I am not sure how many from Illinois would travel to OH for a shoot. Not many from IL drive to Sparta. I am West Pa. I wouldn't travel 6 hours to Illinois. More on the no need to register targets issue than weather. More show up in PA and OH for meat shoots than satellite grand shoots. Why shoot $32 for practice and trinkets when they can pay $16 for a hundred birds at home? Mechanixx is right. Illinois to OH is tooo far. Even more tooo far to PA.
