Just got back from the range --and a couple of kids {kids- anyone under 60} where shooting a bump stock AR and a Binary trigger AR -- They went through a couple hundred round in five minute - -- I had never seen a binary trigger before --almost as fast as the bump stock --they let me try it -- My first thought was would it work on a double gun? --Pull fire- release fire Great doubles gun?? Put the release guys in the back seat with us pull trigger guys

It might work but those of us who use release triggers sure don't want to have to pull a trigger and then hang on until we release it for the second shot. The reason we use a release is generally to deal with a flinch when pulling a trigger.
A release/pull is fast as lightning if you don't have any tendency to flinch on the second shot.
And I would also think that with the recoil of a shotgun, once you pull the trigger you would have to pull it hard and hang on for dear life to not inadvertently let it go for the second shot.
By the way, what did you think of shooting the bump stock and Binary triggers?
    Useful for hunting?

There ya go art, what about a release for hunting?
God knows you already proved that saying a release is better than pull works great for fishing.

Lets stop this BS" I got the release because I flinch, otherwise..." Using a release to "cure" flinch comes from pure ignorance. In Europe where the release is banned the coaches cure trigger freeze and flinch going to the roots of the cause and eliminate them by fixing the cause. A panel of European coaches express they experience related to trigger freeze and flinching in this e book " Curing trigger freeze and flinching" If you read the book you will understand
where the trigger freeze comes from and the solutions for it. You will learn thinks you never head of here and you never will.

Many get refuge in release saying that they flinch even they never had one in their life. That's the main excuse....to get one.

...and you know why, "is fast as a lightning" and far superior to pull.

Personally -- I like shooting more than reloading --100 round in five minutes half hour reloading their clips that's not for me!

And the last gun show I attended the shells were about 30 cents a shot. So, half hour to load, five minutes to spray holes into paper and 30 bucks, eh?

And, I thought trapshooting was expensive. Geez.

I read " Curing rigger freeze and flinching " book entirely! What a wonderful oportunmity to get an other opinion about the issue other than "switch to release" If you read the book you will find out how ignorant you were going to release and how easy you can fix many of the causes.

    Just helping!

If this was a spelling test you would of failed it long ago ... You are entitled (intited ) to your opinion and you can believe anything your little heart desires ... Curing "rigger" freeze and flinching was your golden "oportunmity " but no, you just cannot leave well enough alone ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

He's like the kid that keeps playing with matches even after his parents tell him to stop.

I remember my brother bringing his then 4 year old son to my new house for a visit some 30+ years ago. Cliff was always on the go and getting into something. I'll bet my brother told him a thousand time to stop doing one thing or another. We were sitting in my kitchen and Cliff was behind my brother's chair, WITH A FORK IN HIS LITTLE HAND playing around with the wall receptacle.

"Eddie, he is going to get shocked playing around with that thing."
If I tell him to stop he's just going to do it somewhere else when I'm not around.
Yeah, maybe, but he is definitely going to get zapped.

My brother didn't even turn around to look at him. He looked me in the eye and said,

Yeah, well, he'll only do it once won't he?

I still laugh every time I think of that and it was in 1985. BTW, Cliff grew up just fine and has 2 or 3 kids of his own.

    Arture, put down the fork.

The various Junior category shooters using pull triggers are kicking the tails of lots of release trigger shooters on a regular basis. There are plenty of pull trigger shooters of all ages who do as well.

If you are constantly defeated by release trigger shooters; I venture other factors are responsible. Maybe you are just advocating a rule which would reduce the number of shooters you have to compete against.

It is a fact that release triggers make one concentrate on the Target, The release action is a Voluntary Reaction as Pointing at the Target, A pull trigger is an INVOLUNTARY REACTIO pulling the trigger.. I speak w/55 years exoierence shooting a release trigger.

Dr. I would like to give you an answer and prove you wrong ( sorry) but the censorship in this forum is more important than a good opinion. If I got insulted I respond but the censorship works only on my direction.
Soon, this forum will become a church chat and then the moderator can relax and don't worry at all.

You have never been censored. We have never cared how dumb or good your opinion is. That must be obvious to any reader. You have been told you cannot advertise products here without paying a nickel or two. Push a little further and you can find yourself stuck with the stooges at another place. Try making a wrong comment as to the voracity of my warning. I can arrange it. I have the button. And it works.

I get to the point where I get tired of seeing what certain individuals contribute and or comments from them ... I use the blocking system at that point and it makes my life much easier ... You have to go some to get me to that point but a few have done it, Artur is one of the very few on that list and has been for awhile ... No more charts, graphs, or nonsense, ahhh what a feeling ... I do not, have not and will not ever shoot a release trigger, but I do have some in case someone ever needs to borrow a gun at a shoot ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I honestly appreciate the fact that people have different opinions, because of this they should make their point, the reasoning behind it, provide proof if there is any reason to and then drop it ... It is INSANE to keep harping on and going over and over the same thing many, many times if others are just not agreeing with you and have another opinion that they are convinced is accurate ... If you have to talk someone into taking your opinion as applicable to them you are losing the battle from git-go so drop it and move on ... I have never seen "Just Joe" use the button he is talking about maybe he should try it out to make sure it works ...? I can attest that the blocking button works because I tried it out ... (lol ) ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Logic would seem to dictate, the holder of an opinion concerning the unfairness of release triggers; confronted with evidence of successful users of pull triggers might consider the wisdom of reconsideration.

Par4, I have watched Artur's trolling on this issue (linked with his self impressed bunker v ATA repeats) more than I care to admit.
Actually, Artur does not criticize the release trigger. He, in fact, often repeats that it is "cheating." He has flat out stated it is a superior trigger.
He DOES want to promote his book. And he mainly wants to troll.
I challenged him to shoot bunker against me at any reasonable per-arranged time. Funny, he changed the subject and trolled on.
I understand everyone's frustration with him and his snarky trolling.
    But God bless Joe's restraint.
We do believe in free speech here, right?
It's just that his shtick is sooooo one dimensional and repetitive. It does get irritating (not to mention booooring).
But we don't have to take the bait. The same bait. The same bait. The same bait.
    Regards, Jake

Had to shovel through a lot of stuff to get to the end of this thread. No trolling for me. 15 years ago I started flinching badly. Went to a Comp 870 with Schwab release. Did well. Was a defensive firearms instructor at the time. Started to set the trigger on a Sig 226 in front of a class. OOPS, back to a pull trigger with self hypnosis. Fast track to now.

Two months ago,I suddenly became absolutely unable to pull the trigger on a target. Total neural disconnect. Scrap the hypnosis, sold a gun I shot 396/400 with in trap, a Silver Medal in Intl' Trap, (ouch that hurt), several other guns, and bought a mid grade K-80 with a factory double release.

I think another fellow said it kept him in the game. After 60 years and several million rounds, the brain said the trigger finger is not going to play anymore. The brain CANNOT block the trigger finger from relaxing.

I am still in the game because of a release. I am becoming acclimated to it faster than I would have thought. Shot a 96/100 in trap and 95/100 in Skeet on two consecutive days with the same gun. Have not shot a trap house or cut speaker cables.

Am having a lot of fun with Sporting and my new lease on (shooting) life.

Do a little research and find out WHY release triggers are now banned in ISSF competition. It is not for safety reasons.

    Jakearoo:

I thought he was promoting the book of some other as a cure for those in need of a release trigger. It being his book spins a whole new angle into his motive to allege release trigger use is cheating.

The release trigger does not provide a competitive advantage to users or a disadvantage to non-users. The release trigger just allows some to continue to do what they enjoy. I understand I am preaching to the choir but.....

Promoting a book as if one does not have a pecuniary interest in the sale of the book when one does have such an interest? That is just sleazy.

Thanks for bringing his motive(s) to my attention. His desire to reinvent the rules of the shooting sports as I know them is now something I understand: product market enhancement.

It takes 7 muscles to pull the trigger and only 3 to release it, there is your difference.

You will be told it is for safety reasons. But the truth is, the Italians have dominated the ISSF rules for a long time and they don't shoot release triggers and don't want to shoot against people who do. In a competition shotgun setting, a release trigger is superior. It is faster and smoother.
For Olympic trap, a two shot game at VERY fast targets, a release pull is the fastest possible 2 shot trigger.

As per the new BATF rules under Biden, our release triggers may not be legal. Will it hurt trapshooting? If Jake is right the field may get tighter.

Dont most of the better shooters use releases?
