There should be no problem funding the curtain just use the all the extra money from the increase in camping fees. A good friend of mine said his fees went from $350 to $500 for the same spot. I checked around me in west central Ohio you can get seasonal rates for $1,200 to $1,300
I was told by the campground office that my fees were going up to pay for the curtains and to add more camping space. https://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/c12331_8066b48d667f4c16b1840099ddb4b60f.pdf
Would you post the names of those campgrounds....Seasonal for 1200 - 1300 is hardly $10 a day. Can't even get a tent site for that.
New camping space should be paid for with the revenue of the new camping spaces. The shot curtain should be paid for by all shooters not just the campers. I do not camp a friend said to google west Ohio camping.
The fact is all business's have to pas on the cost of doing business or go broke ... The shot curtains will make it better for the shooter, as well as management when it comes time to mine the lead ... If a business does not make a profit, they at sometime will fail and then people will complain because its no longer there and available to them ... The price going from $350 to $500 seems to be a big increase but the shot curtains are not cheap ... Big business, that's the way it goes ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
The weekend warriors that flocked to Vandalia didn't give a rat's ass what the background looked like. As long as there was money in the pot. Now that the ATA chased them out it is up to the motorhomers that are happy shooting for trinkets at a perfect background that have to pay the extra dollars. Perfect!
There are many occasions when and where a business will or can price it self out of business, adjustments can always be made to keep this from happening if someone is not asleep at the wheel ... I would think the majority of shooters who do not want to shoot for trinkets have separated them self from shoots where that obviously happens ... The newer generation of shooters for the most part never witnessed the shoots where cars and big dollars were the pay offs, so they could careless for the most part ... The lacking of big money has also ran off a lot of old time shooters who could pay for a week end shooting by hitting a reasonably respectable score ... The scales will probably never balance as the Older shooters die off so there is no body to promote the shoots the way they used to be promoted ... I shot handicap at the Grand one year in Vandalia, broke a 97 and paid for all 5 days I was going to be there, those days are gone ... Then there was the Shoots over at Tip City that usually paid even better than the Grand ... God , I miss those days ,.. WPT ... (YAC) ...
I checked out the prices as posted above by Columbus, the prices are more than reasonable when compared to many places where they do not have the facility's that are offered by the Cardinal Center ... The price of everything is going up so get used to it ... Last time we stayed in Sedona (Rancho Sedona) for 3 nights we paid $63.00 per night plus tax for full hook ups, there is nothing there but Herons shitting all over your rig ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
The liquor passed. Big changes now coming to the CC. Shot curtains, motel across the street, and booze nearby.
I doubt if anything happens curtain- wise before the State shoot, however, with Mr. Fishburn anything's possible. Maybe Luke will enlighten us. Regards.....Gerald
