If this alleged happened, I can't imagine there aren't more comments about it. Something of this nature isn't usually covered up.
It would be very hard to sexually assault some one on the trap line. I guess it would depend on the acusers definition of assault. Physically, mentally or verbally. Roger C
Thanks davidson, Looks like Sparta has more than their share of perverts. Do you know the population of Sparta? Along with the ethnic balance? Roger C.
Roger, Facts can be misleading. The ratio of sex offenders in Marengo, Ohio as of 08/23/2017 is 18 to 1. Would that suggest that quite possibly the CC is overrun with perverts?
10guns, It all depends on who is making use of the facts. data can be used to fit the outcome what is being looked for. But according to the facts you are correct. Now can you get the facts on how many trap shooters are on the watch list? The facts do show that Sparta is well of the national average, do they not? Roger C.
Very true Roger. Also I am not disputing the "Sparta facts". As to getting the facts on how many trap shooters are on the watch list. All I know is that most "skeeters" I've talked to over the years think all trap shooters are perverts but outside of that I would not have a clue!
10 guns, I was always told that you did not have to be a pervert to shoot skeet, but it helped . It made you fit in the crowd better. There would be no market for tutu's if it were not for skeet shooters. Roger C.
To keep this from being front page news in and around the area they classified it as an attack with a friendly weapon ... The ATA did not have a classification for it so no ribbons were awarded ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
Poor Skeet shooters, always maligned by trap shooters. Say what you want about Skeet shooters but they have ....a what? Wait for it....wait....it's coming ....right there....here it is....they have their own very own Home Grounds, a place to call home, some place they can control, some place to call their own. Trap shooters have .....ta da....Sparta. Bwaaaahahahaha.
Sky Dog, Do you really think the Skeet shooters control the facility in Texas. Me tinks your bubl is about to bust. I do share your your reaction to Sparta. Roger C.
I'll wager the Sporting Clays shooters might have more say since they generate more income (just a guess), but the NSSA had the foresight to plan for the future. Either way they (Skeet/Sporting) have a Home Grounds and the ATA has put trap shooters in a semi-gypsy status.
Gypsy status.....not so sure about that. Here in OH I can go to 3 of the 5 largest shoot in the U.S. at the Cardinal Center. I can go to another as large in PA. Is it gypsies that go to Sparta? It is only 1 shoot. The home of trapshooting is still OH and PA. The sex assaults and criminals working Sparta from east St. Louis don't bother me.
I would agree with you about OH and PA. Unfortunately the ATA has never purchased a location we can say we own. We own no land, we are renters. If issues with Sparta become unmanageable forcing us out or leave of our own accord, we would be on the road homeless, like gypsies. I am sure the ATA would not let this happen but I hope you can see my analogy. I have never shot the CC, but friends have and say it is a superb facility. We are fortunate to have a location like the CC and the support of the owners for our sport.
I wish I was confident the ATA wouldn't let it happen. I'd feel much better if the ATA had on record a "master plan" containing a number of forward-looking strategies. It appears the future is not something on the minds of our organization's leadership. Has anyone heard any of the Executive Committee or Board of Directors say anything about the future? All I remember hearing was all the calls to the larger shooting facilities requesting they consider being a satellite site for a Grand American Handicap tournament if the ATA is locked out of the WSRC. That was a reaction to the Illinois budget crisis . . . not a plan for the future. HB
All business fail when men of vision are not leading. THERE IS NO STANDING STILL IN BUSINESS. You are either going forward or backwards. Standing still is not in the format. Where is the ATA organization headed? Roger C.
