Proxy server users will get banned!

    Warning for proxy server users.

    Proxy servers are a threat to gun owners. Proxy servers are a threat to this forum.

    If you are using a proxy server without permission from a mod you will be banned. We do this to protect our members, the forum, and our readers.

    I know I'm computer illiterate, but, will you explain what a proxy server is.

    It's a "middleman" server. Under normal circumstances you computer's internet service provider communicates directly with this web site's servers. A proxy server intercepts and resends that communication. There are lots of them available on the internet. The proxy server doesn't transmit any information that would make you identifiable to the web sites you are connecting to. People use them when they don't want to be tracked or identified by the web sites they are communicating with. There are legitimate uses for proxy servers but posting on this forum is apparently not considered to be one of them.

    As stated above there may be good reasons for using a proxy.

    Now for the bad. A proxy server can filter and store the information of all parties. A proxy may be owned / operated by a govt agency of the U.S. or any other country. The forum mods value their rights to have and buy firearms without the data being collected from other entities.

    Bottom line....We will try to protect the users here. Proxy servers are out!

    To the top. Do not use a proxy server. And don't whine to the mods after you are banned for using one. The security of our members is far more important!

    And as a moderator of the forum....proxies are banned for all the reasons previously stated in the forum. If you are from China, and are using a proxy in China, or are in North Korean, and are using a proxy in North Korea, or if your are in the middle east and are using a proxy, you will be banned like anyone in the U. S. using a proxy server.

    If you feel you have a special need to use a proxy, and there are some....then contact a moderator.

    We have had a huge number of possible members registering with proxy ip addresses/proxy servers again. You will get a message saying banned. We want you guys to be members.
