The way I hear it, we have some "Hot Shot" guy coming all the way from Texas to attend this shoot! I won't be shooting the wife's gun this time so I hope I can do a little better (probably not). Hope to see another big crowd at this one! Don
Hope you can make it LaserWizard. No Farmer Gold or any other categories for this shoot. This is one of those good old fashioned shoots where the winners get paid and the losers get experience. No feel good participation ribbons here. Shoot good or buy good, period!
"Hot Shot"???? No,,,,,,,, Ole Charlie wont be making the trip with me this time, I wish he was!!!! But I am looking forward to seeing the Great folks at WCGC again on March 4th. Matt
Matt, I was told a great shooter from Metro Gun Club was coming and naturally assumed it was either Mr. Long (either one) or Mrs. Hopper! My bad. We will be just as happy to see you (wink, wink). I will make sure we bring extra refreshments cuz I know you will be parched after your long trip. Robb, Joe Nester or Roger Brenner should be able to get you info on the local hotels and restaurants. I know there are a couple hotels at the turnpike exit very close to the club. I think one of them is a Holiday Inn but I'm not sure. Hope you can make it!
Thanks Don, It looks like 3.5 hrs. to me. Just thought we might stay if there was something decent. A bad score stings enough without 7 hours of driving to boot.
Robb: Hotels are very close. At Holiday City, Ohio which is about 4 miles from club: Holiday Inn Express 419-485-0008 Quality Inn 419-485-5555 Econo Lodge 419-485-3139 Or at Bryan, Ohio which is about 8 miles from club: Colonial Manor 419-636-3123 Plaza Motel 419-636-3159 You can search restaurants online for Holiday City, Bryan, Montpelier or Blakeslee Ohio and find several options. These are all very small towns so you will not find Texas Roadhouse or other chain type restaurants. Let me know if you need additional information or help, Thanks, Roger
Big Papa, We missed you and your auctioneer talents. There were 72 shooters total and 60 in the Calcutta. Big winners with 95's were Matt "Big Hombre" Nicol and Mike "Mallory's Dad" Stanton. Congrats to both of them for a well earned share of 1st place! We had shooters from Texas, Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio. There was an auction for a nice Remington 1100 and the winning bid was $550.00. All the proceeds from that auction go straight to the Williams County Youth Midway account and with matching funds will generate $1,650.00 into their account. Total payout from all options and purses was $7,600.00! That is an amazing total ($$) for a 100 bird event on random Saturday this time of year in NW Ohio. The bottom 2 scores that hit the Lewis were around 81 and 75 if memory serves. Both scores hit by themselves and those two shooters got a VERY nice payout!!! The girls in the kitchen did an outstanding job as usual. A big THANK YOU to all the hard working volunteers that make the Williams County shoots such a success! DuckDog
Thanks, Dog. Would love to have been there. But, had to make a decision. Williams County or down South. DA. See you sooon.
