Ok Guys who should the next grudge match shooters be that have a score to settle? Who brags about their shooting ability that is BETTER than the REST? Who is the best Long Range Angle Shooter? Is it a SPORTING CLAYS SHOOTER or a TRAPSHOOTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gary Bryant...........................................Dr.longshot
Dr , I think it would be you and a Sporting Clay shooter , you have to quit giving them all of the fine points in your postings though, only making it tough on yourself ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
WPT it should not be me, possibly Brad Dysinger and Green Titan or Neil Winston, Neil did a lot of bragging with Charts & Graphs, but not Material Things & Green Titan spread a lot of BS and only being a 20 yard shooter, and a short time ATA member. Not me as I am in bad shape with Back Pain, & Balance Problems using my Prosthetic Foot. GB...........................................DLS
Doc, I'd bet even money on you if you were laying down ... You the man in shoot offs ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
Thanks for the support WPT. It would be nice to have Grudge Matches at the Cardinal, W/money for Veterans, Children, & Other Orginizations GB...............................................DLS
"Who is the best Long Range Angle Shooter? Is it a SPORTING CLAYS SHOOTER or a TRAPSHOOTER" I guess it depends on what kind of targets you're talking about, but my answer is Neither. The best long range angle shooter is an Annie Oakley shooter. Are there any here?
Why not a three team grudge match? Three teams from trap skeet sporting. Each team shoots all three events. High total score wins. Or have as many teams as you can get.
We did a similar tournament here in Erie Pa, it was called the shotgun challenge 50 skeet 50 sporting 50 trap. It was a fun tournament and fundraising event but it died after people realized that a sporting shooter won every year for ten years (the length of the event)
Gary: Your box of hulls and some additional goodies ships UPS tomorrow via UPS. Here's the tracking number: 1Z 6W4 125 03 9008 4861. If I had your email address, I could have set you up to automatically receive shipping/tracking information. Incidentally, how does a member here privately email another member? I just don't see a link to that endeavor. Whiz
Brad since you arranged the original Grudge Match and it was such a huge success maybe you could set up Grudge Match 2 between the Importer and the Reporter? Dave Berlet
Brad to add to my above post maybe you should allow the combatants to each have their attorney with them to fully vet the score keeper the trap setter and also to make sure that there are no rogue targets in the trap house? I believe the good doctor would like to see this match. Dave Berlet
I would LOVE to see Dave Berlet and Brad go at it... We would have to call this a 'FRIENDS" event because I can't imagine these fine gentlemen ever having a Grudge. If that were to come to pass, I would hope someone would tape it and put it on Youtube so folks like me, who cannot attend, could watch the fun, and the comments they would throw at each other after each shot..LOL This would be one for the history books.
My money WOULD have been on that old "Has Been" Dysinger. Now that Glenn has offered up 10 lbs of pork chops I will have to switch my bet over to Dave. If there is one thing I have learned after more than 20 years of shooting with David it would be to NEVER bet against him if there is food involved! Not sure how we could hype this shoot up. Dave and Brad have been friends since just after dirt was invented.
Don ole buddy friend of mine since pork chops have entered into this discussion do you suppose that you could talk Brad into shooting his 20 gauge or maybe even his 42? Since Brad is still just a kid I believe it would be quite appropriate for him to spot me about a gauge a year for the difference in our age. This seems quite logical to me. Ole Dave Berlet
David, I feel your proposal has merit and I will do my best to persuade Brad into accepting. I must warn you that the last time I shot against Brad when he was using his 20 ga, he beat me like a rented mule. Therefore, I strongly encourage you to push for the model 42. Remember that Brad is not only much younger, he now has a fully functioning heart! Dog gone Doctors have him all fixed up and feeling good again. Still not sure how we can make this a Grudge match?
Don as I think about it I do remember shooting with the kid (Brad) when he shot the 20 gauge on an ATA handicap (27yd)and he broke 94 while losing 4 on 1 trap. Just my opinion, but I have always believed that he may have been the best bad weather 27yd shooter ever to play this game. Old and now intimidated Dave Berlet
Dave, Perhaps we can make this a model 12 vs model 42 shoot? An earlier post suggested a team format. How about a protection shoot with each team required to have one shooter use a model 12 and the other shooter must use a 42? You and Brad could team up that way. Maybe take on the younger generation, that "Dirk" fellow and his friend (what's his name? Springmen? Sprangs? Springer, that's it!)
Don if we keep getting more people involved I believe that we are going to need more pork chops, maybe even some Jimmie Johns sandwiches to help keep up the competitors strength during this grueling event. We definitely wouldn't want anyone to become undernourished during an event of this magnitude. We can discuss the drinks of choice after we get the food menu settled. Dave Berlet
Watch out , it sounds like Dave is getting serious. Don't fall for this trickery Brad. I'll go twenty pounds. Dave , you do like bone in chops or do they have to be boneless ? Glenn
Grocery Guy, Please give Dave a little time to respond to your question about bone in or boneless chops. You see, I'm certain Dave stopped reading your post as soon as he read "I'll go twenty pounds." He is probably in his recliner right now in a semi-comatose state dreaming of 20 lbs of pork chops. Maybe even a hint of drool at the corner of his mouth. Give it some time.
This is getting quite interesting, but let me warn you not to under sell Brad when it comes to free food. As to what kind of pork chops I guess that would be whatever is on the table. Now if it comes to preference the picture in my mind go'es back to looking at the smoked pork chops at the Southside Ribs in Sparta. I think that Don will probably agree with me on those chops. Dave Berlet
I thought it would it would get a rise out of him. I can see them in the match and Dave looks over and gives Brad that SMILE !! Watch out Brad. Glenn.
All of this back and forth is great and I am getting hungry, but to keep in the perspective of the original Grudge match I believe we need to go with the Importer and the Reporter and send the pork chops to a charity of the winners choice. Dave Berlet
A man needs to know his limitations so me shooting against Dave for food is out, I would shoot against Paladin for $ though. Brad
I certainly agree with David about Southside Ribs in Sparta, great food there! Brad is too smart to get into a shootin' match with Dave for food but he has proposed a real Grudge match between himself and "Paladin". I also like Dave's idea of the Importer vs. Reporter. Not sure if the Reporter is willing to give up his/her identity so maybe Importer vs. Just Joe? Doesn't have the same ring to it but it would at least be a Grudge match of sorts. Maybe a Grudge match shot over the bunker trap at Cardinal since Euro Targets are used extensively for international competitions? Just throwing out some ideas.
I am getting a new part (second one) added to my body in the late spring. A later date I would be interested. I am going to need 6 months to heal. Obviously I would shoot against ole Chubb for anything but food.... Of course we would need attorneys present. White Flyer targets would be my first choice.
Don and Joe I've decided, as the promoter of the original Grudge match that was by anyones measurement "HUGE" where we took two internet trap posting stars, who at one time or other had both been called every name in the book, so safe to say not that popular and get the crowd to attend the match at the Cardinal Center and "CARE" I know a little bit about promoting. By sizing up Mr. Chubb and knowing Dave as well as I do, I propose a Grudge Match between them (rules to be worked out) prize to be one dozen of those wonderful 8 sister's cream filled sticks, maple is my favorite. I know Dave has a distinct advantage in this Grudge Match 2017, I've witnessed Dave consume several 8 sister's sticks in person so he will know his reward well. I've rear Mr. Chubb's web page. I think that an International shooter such as he should hold his own. I would think this event could be shot at the Cardinal Classic, or maybe as a demonstration event one evening at the SCTP shoot. If there is anyone on here intersted I'm looking forward to hearing from YOU. Brad Dysinger "Promoter of the one and only Grudge Match BigDon vs Dr. Longshot"
Brad & Don I just had another idea for a grudge match that I believe could generate a lot of interest. How about in one corner Roger McNamer(applied for state team) and in the other corner Don Cogan( non applied for state team)? In this setup I could just set back with a nice cup of coffee and maybe one of those nice apple fritters and let some of the younger combatants put on the entertainment for a good charity. Dave Berlet
Here are a few of those Amish 8 Sisters that run the CC concessions. They serve up some great cream sticks and apple fritters. Looking at Chubb, (cant get over that name) I think he might put up a good battle. Not so fast on that. The shoot has not been won yet. I expect someone's attorneys to count each and every target. Maybe a picture of one of the rewards can lure both athletes.
You might want to set your sights a bit higher. I see Mr. Chubb began his brief ATA shooting career with a whopping 61.00 handicap average in 1982. He retired from active ATA shooting shortly thereafter with few scores above the low 80's. and remained a lifetime short yardage handicap shooter. On to more challenging endeavors said he-like bunker!
IMO, the only way Mr. Chubb shows up to shoot at the CC is if he thinks it will PROMOTE his own shooting facility. Now, if he is as smart as he appears to be or as he should be, he would show up at the CC and bring along a truck load of those Euro targets AT NO CHARGE to the hosting club. What better way to PROMOTE a product. Even if he gets lumped up in some kind of shootoff people will remember the guy as a class act that helped the host club make a few more bucks. AND got his PRODUCT in front of shooters that might not otherwise ever shoot them. I'm not holding my breath but if I were him I would have already made the call and accepted ANY kind of challenge. And think of this. IF he won, he gets his name on a brick that he could use to PROMOTE his place in PA.
Don't know. I've not seen him shoot American Trap but have seen him in action on the bunker. That's why I said my money would be on him if the match was to be bunker trap. It's all hypothetical anyway, right?
